Hello and Welcome back to my blog!
The base game, "theHunter: Call of the Wild" is currently 75% off as part of the Spring Sale on Steam. And many DLC maps are also on discount. Let me show you a beautiful map called "Medved-Taiga National Park". It is one of the snow maps so if you love some snowy peaks and blizzards, you will gonna love this one.
If you are still not convinced, let me try to show you some of various locations in this map. Also, some structures which you will find scattered throughout the map.
First and foremost, the frozen lakes, most of which are found on the Western part of the map in 'Zabolochennye Lands' region.
These lakes are an important part of the ecosystem and usually hotspots for animal activities.
The long overgrown grasses on the edge of these water bodies provides an excellent cover for many animals, even bigger ones like Moose and Bears!
While the lakes gives us some good opportunity to spot animals, the woods are not that merciful. They hide animals easily and often prove to be challenging hunting grounds. But taking a stroll through them is very enjoyable, the graphics of the game, the atmosphere and ambient noises makes you feel like you are there!
There will be some good hunting spots each with an unfinished hunting stand. If you can pay for its construction, you could have a good hunting stand which will provide concealed location and better view for your hunting adventures. But you might have to wait or lure your prey and it can get a bit challenging at times!
Some even bigger structures like Watch Towers will be spread across the reserve. One should visit every outpost and survey the area from the top to reveal the secrets of that land and have a better understanding of the map. These structres are much higher than the hunting stands or tree stands.
One can get a much better view of the landscape from the top of these towers!
The wildlife here is quite interesting too. You will find a lot of predators from smaller and cunning Eurasian Lynx to big Bears and even wolves! I got attacked a couple of times by a pack of wolves in the game and they add an interesting dynamic to the game.
The biggest species here are Moose which are not too difficult to lure in and hunt, especially when they come to drink at the lakes.
The outposts here are interesting as well. Each map has unique style of outposts which are modelled like they would look in that environment.
There are some abandoned villages, one of them is towards northern part of the map called the Two River Village probably because it is situation close to where two rivers meet.
You can get knocked out if you accidently fell into the ice cold water. There are a few rivers which looks like it empties into an ocean.
The weather system is very dynamic too, everything can change in a matter of few minutes, from all sunny to suddenly a cloudy storm which turns into a heavy blizzard. The same landscape looks different in different weather conditions.
It feels very spooky at night and a bit more challenging. Wolves can be a big threat at that situation so I rarely hunt at nights unless there is a specific mission that wants me to harvest something at night.
I hope I was able to show you the beauty of this amazing map. For someone who loves snow, it is a heaven and at the same time a bit challenging due to dense forests and dangerous wolves. It is a great map to enjoy this amazing game!
Let me know which of the shots were your favorites. I love #4, #5 and #15 the most!
Thanks for reading...
Until next hunt...
