I began playing Ferocious, where San Win and his brother Min Tun survived a shipwreck. Alone on a dark, scary island, I scavenged gear from corpses and witnessed a brutal execution inside a cave before securing a backpack and finding a manual save point.
I came across this game titled Ferocious and decided to give it a try. As a beginner, I jumped into the world to see what kind of person I would become in this prehistoric and dangerous setting.
The story started with my character, San Win, and his brother Min Tun surviving an accident somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. San was assuring his brother that they were safe for the moment as they clung to their boat.
Suddenly, something pushed their boat and both of them fell off. San noticed a giant creature swallowed someone, likely his brother, when he was underwater trying to survive the terrifying depths of the dark ocean.
San found himself on the shore of an island, alone and scared. I started looking around through his eyes and saw the sky was filled with tiny birds circling above the rugged, rocky terrain.
I noticed there were wrecks scattered all around the shore, remnants of other unlucky vessels. As San started calling for his brother, it became clear that finding Min Tun was my primary goal on this desolate coast.
I noticed there were coconut trees on the island, but it was not a tropical paradise. It felt like a dark, scary island where every shadow held a potential threat lurking behind the dense, prehistoric foliage.
I noticed a watchtower on top of the rocks, which was very far away from my position. I didn't think I could climb up those steep rocks to get there yet, so I kept moving along the beach.
As I moved ahead, I suddenly noticed a dead body that had clearly become a meal for ocean creatures. The body lost almost 30% of its mass, making it a truly grim and unsettling scene.
I found another body ahead, but when I went close, San checked the face and confirmed it was not his brother. The relief was short-lived, as the presence of so many bodies meant danger was everywhere.
I found a briefcase near that body where I discovered some gear and a notebook. This notebook seemed important for tracking my journey and understanding the mysteries of this strange, forgotten island.
I crossed through a tight space of a cave and witnessed a horrific sight. Some armed people on the other side were torturing a man before they shot him down in cold blood.
On the left, I noticed there was a campfire inside the cave, so I started following the path toward it. It seemed like a small pocket of humanity amidst the brutal violence I had just witnessed.
I found a backpack that I picked up to use as storage for my journey ahead. Having a way to carry more supplies was a huge relief as I prepared to face the island's many threats.
The game confirmed that these campfires are the only source of saving my progress. I realized I would need to do it manually every time I found one to ensure my progress is not lost.
