Hello to this great community that is Gaming Photography, today I want to share with you this wonderful survival game, with a terror that makes you have good scares
°Synopsis°
The Forest came out on May 30, 2014, being a title dedicated to survival horror.
It was developed and distributed by the company Endnight Games.
This information was taken from Wikipedia
°Introduction to history°
Possibly the introduction to the story of The Forest is one of the most remembered for some reason.
It all starts in the shoes of Eric Leblanc, being a father who is traveling with his son Timmy.
However, the plane begins to have strange turbulence, ending up crashing on an island. Eric and Timmy are the only survivors, however, between dizziness from the impact, he sees his son being kidnapped by a strange creature, now Eric must survive on the island and rescue his son.
°Gameplay°
If there is one thing to recognize about The Forest, it is that it is a game with a lot of content for its time.
By this we mean that it was a large map which felt alive, with enough animals to feel like you were really in a forest as enemies, to remember that we were in a horror adventure.
The crafting system is also very dynamic, along with a fairly comfortable inventory.
The logging system, construction, fishing, combat, hunting and more are also designed correctly for what is expected from the title.
The AI of the enemies is also well done, which is important, since we must remember that the point of the game is to feel in danger, knowing that if we see an enemy or several, it will not be an easy task to kill them.
However, the same cannot be said about animal AI, since they are kind of stupid.
Furthermore, a criticized issue is that the fauna hardly respawns, so it disappears, but at a certain point it also makes the game more realistic.
The gameplay is not really that innovative or spectacular, however it is very well polished, and that is an important point that even fails in current games.
°Graphics°
In terms of graphics, it really isn't spectacular, but it lives up to its time, being similar to other games like Far Cry 4.
In terms of atmosphere, if you do an excellent job, when you play it you feel in a real forest with a life of its own, where we have thousands of things to do and discover, however, soon that place will be stalked by cannibals, which will change the perspective completely.
From that point we will see the forest as something terrifying, especially at night, where an enemy can come from anywhere.
°Sound°
It is not a spectacular section either, everything does what it should
°Element "Terror"°
The Forest is by no means the scariest game of all time, as it is mainly about exploration, adventure, and surviving on an island.
The real terror of The Forest comes in knowing that we are not safe, the atmosphere that a forest generates at night along with knowing that at any moment a group of Cannibals can come to attack, is something that will keep you in the shelter for a long time.
The design of the Cannibals is also terrifying, along with the rituals and sacrifices that you will find on the island.
The island is also full of strange and gory things.
Conclusion
Some people consider The Forest to be an underrated game, as it is a game that was great in its time but was quickly forgotten.
It had a great impact on YouTube, being played in its time by youtubers like Fernanfloo and juggerman, however, even some other streamers play this game again, like Rubius a few months ago
The Forest was a little fresh for the time, changing a little what was being normalized as Survival Horror, innovating a little in that part.
It has ratings ranging from an average 7/10 to 9/10
