There are many deities in Hinduism. All these deities are specially worshiped on different occasions. Ganesh ji is very special in all this. Actually Ganesh ji is worshiped before any auspicious work like marriage or business. It is believed that worshiping Lord Ganesha before the beginning of any auspicious work does not hinder any kind of work. It is believed that by this worship the work successfully reaches its end. Lord Ganesha is called Vighnaharta.That is, Ganesh ji takes away every obstacle that comes in the life of a person. And one's life is lived happily.
An interesting incident is hidden behind the worship of Lord Ganesha before the start of auspicious works. According to this incident, once a dispute arose among all the gods as to who should be worshiped first on earth. Each deity considered himself to be the best. To find a solution to this problem, everyone went to Lord Shankar.
On this, Shankar ji said that whoever reaches him first by circumambulating the universe, he will be considered to be worshiped first.
All the gods rode in their respective vehicles and set out on the circumambulation of the universe. But instead of going round the universe, Ganesha completed seven rounds of his parents Shiva and Parvati and stood in front of them with folded hands. On the return of all the gods after completing the circumambulation of the universe, Shiva declared Ganesha as the winner.
And that the parents have been ordered that they are spoiled. First of all, Ganesh ji is worshipped.
