सर्वप्रथम 15अगस्त 1947 के दिन भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने दिल्ली में लाल किले के लाहौरी गेट के ऊपर भारतीय राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया था जिसके बाद यह प्रतिवर्ष भारत के प्रधानमंत्री लाल किले से देश को संबोधित करते है और देश भक्ति के गानों के साथ यह पर्व काफी धूम धाम से मनाया जाता हैं।।

भारत को स्वतंत्रता दिलाने के लिए कई वीर जवानों ने अपनी जान को भारत माता के लिए त्याग दिया ।।
