Hay expresiones que con pocas palabras expresan mucho, recientemente oí una expresión que no entendí muy bien, por lo que investigando un poco sobre su significado me pareció interesante y fue inevitable no pensar la frase en primera persona. Al parecer muchas personas piensan en el imperio romano con mucha frecuencia, cosa que convirtió la frase “Mi imperio romano” en un slogan para evidenciar aquello que ocupa la mente de forma constante.
Debo confesar que pienso más en el imperio romano de lo que puedes imaginar, en gran medida creo que el motivo principal es que mi nombre es César, y bien sabemos la relevancia del nombre en tiempos de imperio. Incluso he llegado a afirmar que de existir vidas pasadas debí ser romano, pero eso es otra historia.
Cuando comencé a pensar en la frase en primera persona, llegué a concluir que mi imperio romano es la filosofía. Creo que pienso más en filosofía que en cualquier otra cosa. Ciertamente no acabe la licenciatura, pero, eso no ha interrumpido mi constante interés en estar aprendiendo, leyendo, reencontrándome con autores. De hecho, ahora mismo estoy en un reencuentro con cierto pensador antiguo del que he estado escribiendo y espero pronto compartir mi nuevo proyecto.
Así que tengo que decir que la filosofía es mi imperio romano.
No sé si estoy al frente de una expresión que más que popular evoca una introspección con aquello que podría ser algo importante en nuestra vida, o por lo menos algo que nos evoca nostalgia, o que evoca algo que en nosotros deseamos sea inmortal.
Si hay una expresión que me encanta es que Roma es conocida como la ciudad inmortal, no por nada es de las ciudades más antiguas que aun conservan estructuras de hace miles de años, por lo menos el coliseo que es de las cosas más antiguas, pues data del año 70 D. C., es decir estamos hablando de una edificación con más de 1900 años de antigüedad. En otras palabras, creo que la frase que nos ha traído hasta aquí más que evocar algo que está constantemente en nuestra mente, evoca algo que deseamos sea inmortal.

It was inevitable that I would think about the phrase in the first person. When I started thinking about the phrase in the first person, I came to the conclusion that my Roman Empire is philosophy. I think I think more about philosophy than anything else. I certainly didn't finish my degree, but that hasn't interrupted my constant interest in learning, reading, and rediscovering authors. In fact, right now I am rediscovering a certain ancient thinker that I have been writing about, and I hope to share my new project soon.
