VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL
En estos últimos días he estado full actividades en la comunidad parroquial donde presto mis servicios sacerdotales, ya que hemos celebrado su sexto aniversario de fundación, se trata de la parroquia "Santa Faustina Kowalska" en Tierra Negra, Barquisimeto, que es una de las últimas parroquias que la Arquidiócesis creó, la nro. 120 si mal no recuerdo, razón por la cual considero una ocasión propicia para compartir mis pensamientos desde algunos fundamentos teológicos que le den sentido a la existencia de este tipo de comunidades dentro de la Iglesia.
Arca de Noé
Creo que todos hemos leído, escuchado o incluso visto en alguna película la historia del diluvio bíblico, donde resalta la construcción de una gran embarcación por parte de un hombre (Noé) para que sirviera de refugio ante las grandes fuerzas de la naturaleza, de esta manera, los que entraron dentro del arca encontraron una forma de sobrevivir al desastre natural. Una parroquia eclesiástica podemos asemejarla en cierto sentido a esta historia si tomamos como referencia que la finalidad es lograr una comunidad donde las personas que la conforman o se acerquen puedan encontrar sanación y salvación ante aquellas circunstancias de su vida personal que le pueden estar afectando, siguiendo con la imagen, ante aquellos diluvios personales que le estén ahogando.
Quizá parezca una utopía, quizá nunca hemos visto la realización de esta conceptualización en ningún lugar, no obstante, este es el norte a seguir, ya que, sino ¿qué sentido tiene entrar a formar parte de una comunidad de este tipo? Por eso, una de las cosas que yo insisto a los feligreses es que debemos esforzarnos para crear en la parroquia un "auténtico ambiente familiar", donde las personas se sientan bien, acogidas, escuchadas, comprendidas. De hecho, al final lo que busca la parroquia es replicar en mayor escala lo que ya debería ser una pequeña arca de Noé para cada uno: su familia, círculo íntimo de amistad, cualquier ambiente que le permita sobrevivir a los diversos diluvios - que no son solo climáticos- que la vida pueda presentar.

¿El reino de Dios?
Otra imagen que me gustaría traer a colación para hablarles un poco de lo que significa una parroquia eclesiástica es la del "Reino de Dios", entendiendo el mismo no como un lugar sino como el esfuerzo, porque los valores del Evangelio (solidaridad, fraternidad, justicia, paz, etc.) se hagan presente en cualquier ambiente o comunidad donde estemos presente.
En este sentido, vino a mi mente en estos días la primera adquisición que para la parroquia hicimos, la misma fue un reverbero que para quien no lo conoce es una especie de cocina artesanal, el mismo fue adquirido para empezar a realizar obras sociales en beneficio de la comunidad donde no basta más que dar un paseo por sus calles para darse cuenta las diversas necesidades que padece, de esta manera casi que de manera ininterrumpida se creó un comedor que todos los sábados atiende alrededor de 80 personas de escasos recursos, sobre todo pertenecientes a la tercera edad.
Ciertamente, un plato de comida a la semana es muy poco, no obstante, aquí hay dos cosas que me gustaría resaltar: primero, que lo importante no es que nos quedemos en el tamaño de la acción, sino que pensemos que todo suma y es de ayuda. Segundo, nos esforzamos por no solo brindar un plato de comida, sino una sonrisa y buena atención, ya que muchas veces la experiencia es que más que vacío en los estómagos hay es vacío en el corazón.

Experiencias de estos días
Luego de haberles comentado sobre este par de fundamentos teológicos sobre lo que es o debería ser una parroquia, no quiero terminar este post sin hacerles partícipes de la alegría que nos inundó estos días, puedo decir que de manera particular a mi persona, ya que soy el primer párroco de esta comunidad, por lo cual he tenido una oportunidad inigualable de verla crecer y progresar, de hecho siento orgullo cuando llegan personas de afuera y se van complacidos por dicho progreso.
Estos fueron días donde, además de las celebraciones de culto, también compartimos la alegría de un año más de esfuerzo, dedicación, constancia y fe. Por eso, no faltó nuestra torta de aniversario y al final un mini festival para conmemorar la ocasión, la satisfacción personal fue como varias personas me dijeron que no se querían ir a sus casas, ja, ja, ja, creo que vamos por buen camino en la construcción de ese "ambiente familiar" que les comenté.
También fue una experiencia personal que me motivó a seguir trabajando en pro de la comunidad, el hecho de ver caras nuevas que se acercan y se van integrando a los diversos servicios que aquí pueden prestar, que no se limitan a los actos de culto, sino que comprende como me gusta decir todo lo que se puedan imaginar y sea un aporte positivo: catequesis, música, obras sociales, programas de atención a las diversas realidades familiares, trabajos de construcción y/o reparación,

In recent days I have been full of activities in the parish community where I render my priestly services, since we have celebrated its sixth anniversary of foundation, it is the parish "Santa Faustina Kowalska" in Tierra Negra, Barquisimeto, which is one of the last parishes that the Archdiocese created, number 120 if I remember correctly, which is why I consider it a propitious occasion to share my thoughts from some theological foundations that give meaning to the existence of this type of communities within the Church.
Noah's Ark
I think we have all read, heard or even seen in a movie the story of the biblical flood, which highlights the construction of a large boat by a man (Noah) to serve as a refuge from the great forces of nature, thus, those who entered the ark found a way to survive the natural disaster. An ecclesiastical parish can be similar in a certain sense to this story if we take as a reference that the purpose is to achieve a community where the people that conform it or approach it can find healing and salvation before those circumstances of their personal life that may be affecting them, following with the image, before those personal floods that are drowning them.
Perhaps it seems a utopia, perhaps we have never seen the realization of this conceptualization in any place, however, this is the north to follow, because, if not, what is the sense of being part of a community of this type? That is why one of the things I insist to the parishioners is that we must strive to create in the parish an "authentic family atmosphere", where people feel welcome, welcomed, listened to, understood. In fact, in the end, what the parish seeks is to replicate on a larger scale what should already be a small Noah's ark for everyone: their family, inner circle of friendship, any environment that allows them to survive the various deluges - which are not only climatic - that life may present.

The Kingdom of God?
Another image that I would like to bring up to talk to you a little about what an ecclesiastical parish means is that of the "Kingdom of God", understanding it not as a place but as the effort, because the values of the Gospel (solidarity, fraternity, justice, peace, etc.) are present in any environment or community where we are present.
In this sense, it came to my mind in these days the first acquisition that we made for the parish, the same was a reverbero that for those who do not know it is a kind of artisan kitchen, the same was acquired to begin to carry out social works for the benefit of the community where it is not enough to take a walk through its streets to realize the various needs that it suffers, in this way almost uninterruptedly created a dining room that every Saturday serves about 80 people of limited resources, especially belonging to the elderly.
Certainly, one plate of food a week is very little, however, here there are two things I would like to emphasize: first, that the important thing is that we do not stop at the size of the action, but that we think that everything adds up and is helpful. Second, we strive not only to provide a plate of food, but also a smile and good service, because many times the experience is that more than empty stomachs there is emptiness in the heart.

Experiences of these days
After having commented on these two theological foundations about what a parish is or should be, I do not want to end this post without sharing with you the joy that flooded us these days, I can say that in a particular way to me, since I am the first pastor of this community, so I have had an unparalleled opportunity to see it grow and progress, in fact I feel proud when people from outside come and leave pleased by such progress.
These were days where, in addition to the worship celebrations, we also shared the joy of another year of effort, dedication, perseverance and faith. Therefore, we did not miss our anniversary cake and at the end a mini festival to commemorate the occasion, the personal satisfaction was as several people told me that they did not want to go home, ha, ha, ha, ha, I think we are on the right track in building that "family atmosphere" that I told you.
It was also a personal experience that motivated me to continue working for the community, the fact of seeing new faces that are approaching and integrating to the various services that can be provided here, which are not limited to acts of worship, but includes as I like to say everything you can imagine and is a positive contribution: catechesis, music, social works, care programs to the various family realities, construction work and / or repair, etc.
