Have some time off work this week and was planning on going on a trip for a hike later in the week, but the weather was so good today so didn't want to be stuck inside working away at my vlog. Its been 10 days inside pretty much getting to grips with Premier Pro 2025... Check out my post tomorrow ;-)
So decided to scrap it for today and bring forward my day trip early.
Little did I know that my mobile phone carrier, Vodafone is newly not operating in NI, and I'm in the South in Dublin. So when I crossed the border Spotify stopped working in the car and realised I didn't have data. Made things difficult, and long story short kind of got lost around 3 times on the way to where I wanted to go to... a hike up Slieve Donard which is part of the Mourne Mountains.
Picked a random spot next to a lake to go (I still had access to SatNav but could only see a grainy map) and found the spot where I took the footage in the below link.
Its called Silent Valley and there is a dam which services the whole of Belfast. Frustratingly I got lost a few times on the walk around too, and my white runners sadly got wrecked from the pretty much bogland I found myself in. Actually had my hiking boots in the boot of the car, 20 mins walk away from the start of trail which I eventually veered off half way through, although even they wouldn't have helped too much the bog was so deep in parts.
Tried to go up to the top of the left peak, but fell short next to the wall that you can see the drone flew up at the beginning. Click on the link below, hope you enjoy! Short one, but good one IMO :-)
Still have lessons to learn, don't know why but couldn't think of much else to do.... Will have to do some more research on what shots look good!
