I almost forgot I had these shots. Scroll to bottom for video. I started on a sunrise mission, but fate decided to call in the fog. I took the liberty of using a couple techniques I picked up from and others to take advantage of the weather instead of give up. I'm glad I did! Several shots that I'm very pleased with. I took these over a month ago, and just getting some time to post.
Enjoy the views large or full screen for best effect!
Here is the old pier on the left side (viewing from shore), and the temporary long construction pier on the right. Only a few sections of the old pier remain. The final few pieces were removed last week, and construction on the new pier has just begun. More pics to come later as the new pier gets further in construction.
We started our pic journey on this foggy morning taking a shot from the ground. A trick I learned from and while mine not yet up to his quality of work, I'm starting to pay more attention and practicing the technique. Here is where we started our flight, from the sidewalk next to the parking area.
A nice distant shot of the pier and waves then followed. As we rose up in height, the fog got thicker, making the pier barely visible.
We then gained altitude and was able to peek above the clouds. Just a little after sunrise.
And then back down to the pier for some additional shots.
And then of course if you know me, you know I love to do flying tour videos.
Here is the foggy pier flyover video for your enjoyment.
For those visiting the area, there is a new Compass Margaritaville hotel right across the street from the beach. Excellent food and views!
