Sometimes, you have to take a break from work to go and enjoy some life. Instead of work for me, it's mainly being a primary caregiver for my Dad, and then also keeping my ADHA mother in check, not to mention trading for income... It's a full time job, let me tell you. So after a string of doctor's appointments for both on different sides of town, I took some time for myself and got my new Ruko F11PRO camera drone up in the air. I went out to the main pastures to avoid obstacles like trees and power lines while I get used to it.
Unlike my freestyle drones, this one has some major limitations as far as what I can do with is, so I am testing those limitation as far as height and distance so I know my barriers.
While doing so, I was able to get some great shots of the mountain before I met my first limitation... Distance... The WIFI disconnected from the drone and I lost video. At least I was high enough for it to sit and hover while I walked closer and got reconnected. My freestyle drones would have just fell out of the sky, lol.
As I was bringing the drone back, I noticed my uncle and a buddy of his getting some work done on one side of the barn, then they went to the back of one of the fields, and out of curiosity, I followed to see what they were up to... They had no idea I was watching, lol. I know creepy, but hey, I consider it property security/management, lol. After my uncle saw the drone, he flipped me the southern wave, lol. 🖕🏻 I didn't get a picture of that, but he and I had a laugh a little later after he came back up to the barn.
But all in all, this thing is fun even with the limitations. It's teaching me to fly using a screen instead of goggles, which I have been wanting to try anyway. I am not a fan of wearing the FPV goggles, because I don't like losing my peripheral vision, it's a paranoia thing, what can I say...
I was out there also in time to catch a beautiful sunset over the homestead.
One thing I can say for certain, and it took me growing up, leaving the farm and the state for years, and then coming home to realize that I am truly blessed to have access to all this private land. So I am going to do my best to be the best land curator I possibly can. As a family we have nearly 400 acres of land including parts of the mountain. About 63 acres will be eventually passed down to me, so I want to be a good steward of the land, and preserve it! I have no plans to ever sell or develop anything other my own farm, and future camp ground!
Anyway, just wanted to share some great pics and a good time with you all!
Until next time...
