Hello all the blade lovers here.
I see that not much has been happening on the Knife front lately. Understandable. Life happens, we tend to forget. Not a bad time to get them out though! It's actually never a bad time :)
Recently I decided to take all my blades out and give them some TLC. I haven't done this in a long time and they've taken on some wear and a pretty patina. I don't really mind, I like my blades to have character and considering how long I've had this collection for, they've been pretty well looked after.

They aren't fancy pants blades with all the bells and whistles namebrands, although some are really special to me. Each of them has a story. Every knife that has been gifted to me has had it's "tithe" paid, a custom in my family where a knife could never be accepted without a coin changing hands of any denomination. Superstitious bunch they were, but it added an extra facet to the tradition and felt medieval which was pretty cool (there is actually more to this, feel free to research it if you would like to).
Some of these knives are actually just ridiculous and I keep them for comic relief more than anything else. This Cobra knife would be great in the apocalypse if the undead inherit the earth, but I would never actually strap this to me unless I was truly taking on the persona of TankGyrl (watch this space, this could actually happen one day who knows lol)

In the event of someone breaking and entering my house, this knife would actually not be a bad plan, it is really heavy, solidly constructed and would easily break a jaw or worse if used correctly. The spikes are a bit much though lol.
Each one of my collection has a different feel to it in hand and just overall. One of these knives is a small Kukri (you can see it sheathed in the first photo) that from the second it touched my hand, I knew it had previously been used. I still get a feeling off it whenever I pick it up but it's not as angry now.
I'll do a follow up post on the different blades in there, but I personally don't like them being so cramped in there, what you reckon - do I need a bigger box? Maybe multiple boxes?
Feel free to comment with suggestions on what you think would be a good way to go.
Have a great day.
Cheers
