New Year's Eve with the Whole Family ESP/ENG

I've come here to share some of my happiest memories with you, those from when the Christmas holidays were even more joyful because some of my relatives who are now in other countries were still here at the time. But what I find most moving is seeing in those photos those loved ones who are no longer with us, like my brother-in-law (my older sister's husband), whom we all loved like a father, and one of my sisters, who passed away from Covid in 2021. We always take a family photo on December 25th and 31st, so most of my family was there (well, although some were missing because they didn't fit in the picture), but it comforts me to see those smiling faces, my little nephews, and all that energy that only a happy family radiates in photos. And even though many things have changed today, I still feel grateful, very grateful for that beautiful family that God gave me, for the unity and also for the respect and love we have for each other.

He llegado por aquí a ofrecerles a ustedes algunos de mis recuerdos más felices, esos donde las fiestas decembrinas eran aún más alegres pues algunos de mis familiares que hoy en día están en otros paises, en ese momento aún estaban aquí, pero lo que me parece más emotivo es ver en esas fotos a esos seres queridos que ya no están definitivamente en este plano, como lo son mi cuñado (esposo de mi hermana mayor) a quién todos quisimos como a un padre, y también estaba una de mis hermanas, la que falleció a causa del Covid en el 2021. Siempre acostumbramos a tomar una foto familiar en los días 25 y 31 de diciembre, así que allí estaba la mayoría de mi familia (bueno aunque faltaron algunos que no cupieron en la foto) pero me reconforta ver esos rostros sonrientes, ver a mis sobrinos pequeñitos y toda esa energía que solo irradia en las fotos una familia cuando es feliz. Y a pesar de que muchas cosas han cambiado hoy en día, no dejo de sentirme agradecida, muy agradecida por esa familia tan hermosa que Dios me regaló, por la unión y también por el respeto y amor que nos tenemos.

Here I am with my younger brother, my sister (who passed away), and my great-nephews, who are my sister's grandchildren. They were still very little and looked so adorable. The stereo was on, tuned as always to our favorite radio station for that time of year: "Bonchona." The DJ broadcast live from his house, counting down the hours and minutes until the new year, and when the moment arrived, he would play the twelve chimes and do the countdown, so it was so much fun to listen to. Those were wonderful and priceless moments.

I also got this even older photo where my little nephew Jesus was much younger, he was about 2 years old, and there was also our princess Sofia, the daughter of one of my nephews, at that time she used to spend the Christmas holidays with us.
