Hello to the folks at Throwback Thursday. I am happy to come back here to share my memories with you. I hope you are well and that you like today's story.
This year I have not been very aware of cultural events in my city, because I have been needing more time for myself. However, I have tried to be present in the things that I really consider necessary for me and for my soul. For this reason today, I want to share with you the memory of the first exhibition I attended this year.
I remember that I was not in a good mood that day. I needed something to clear my mind and the commitment I already had made would be the perfect catalyst for me. I arrived around ten o'clock in the morning at the Oriente Gallery, in Santiago de Cuba, at the exact moment when they were calling visitors to meet to officially present the exhibition.
The presentation was short and calm, but concise. Although the specialist was able to summarize everything the artist wanted to say, exchanging directly with Renato Arza was something superior. A man who considers himself an apprentice of everything, proved that dreams can be fulfilled. He commented on how several years ago he asked someone how it was possible to have an exhibition in this, the most important gallery in the city, and after many years of effort he was able to achieve it.
The style of his photography is immensely captivating. From the first moment there is a vibe that makes you bend over in a dreamlike world. They highlight the shadows to the point of making us shudder. The figures have only the necessary light to distinguish themselves, provoking in the spectators a conscious exercise of observation.
On the other hand, constructions and compositions combine chaos with the logical order of things. The model, usually exposed in nudes, is transformed thanks to the elements that each series brings. In her coppery skin we see reflected personal stories, conflicts and even the grief that a country drags.
Renato is one of the few who experiments with surrealism in Santiago, which brings a different vision to our almost repetitive cultural panorama. He does not use short or easy paths, and through discipline he manages to consolidate a work that is gaining in volume and experience.
Something that I really liked was the statement that in all his photos and in all his works the figure of his mother is present, like an angel who takes care of him at all times. I think this is the greatest tribute I could have.
When I left the exhibition I felt that I was recovering a breath that I felt almost lost at that time. I live convinced that art, in any manifestation, is capable of transporting and transforming energies. This exhibition entitled "Beyond" is capable of taking us far, just as its name suggests.

Hola a los amigos de Throwback Thursday. Estoy feliz de volver por acá para compartir mis recuerdos con ustedes. Espero que se encuentren bien y que la historia del dÃa de hoy les guste.
Este año no he estado muy al pendiente de eventos culturales en mi ciudad, pues he estado necesitando más tiempo para mà mismo. Sin embargo, he tratado de estar presente en las cosas que realmente considero necesarias para mà y para mi alma. Por esta razón el dÃa de hoy, quiero compartirles el recuerdo de la primera exposición a la que asistà este año.
Recuerdo que ese dÃa no estaba en un buen estado de ánimo. Necesitaba algo para despejar mi mente y el compromiso que ya tenÃa hecho serÃa el catalizador perfecto para mÃ. Llegué cerca de las diez de la mañana a la GalerÃa Oriente, de Santiago de Cuba, en el momento justo en que llamaban a los visitantes a reunirse para presentar oficialmente la exposición.
La presentación fue breve y tranquila, pero concisa. Si bien la especialista supo resumir todo lo que el artista querÃa decir, intercambiar directamente con Renato Arza fue algo superior. Un hombre que se considera aprendiz de todo, demostró que los sueños se pueden cumplir. Comentó cómo varios años atrás preguntó a alguien cómo era posible hacer una exposición en esta, la galerÃa más importante de la ciudad, y tras largos años de empeño pudo lograrlo.
El estilo de su fotografÃa es inmensamente cautivador. Desde el primer momento hay una vibra que te hace doblegarte en un mundo onÃrico. Resaltan las sombras al punto de hacernos estremecer. Las figuras tienen solo la luz necesaria para distinguirse, provocando en los espectadores un ejercicio consciente de observación.
Por otro lado, las construcciones y composiciones combinan el caos con el orden lógico de las cosas. La modelo, generalmente expuesta en desnudos, se transforma gracias a los elementos que cada serie aporta. En su piel cobriza vemos reflejadas historias personales, conflictos e incluso la pena que arrastra un paÃs.
Renato es de los pocos quw experimentan con el surrealismo en Santiago, lo que aporta una visión diferente a nuestro casi repetitivo panorama cultural. No se vale de caminos cortos ni fáciles, y a través de la disciplina logra consolidar una obra que va ganando en volumen y experiencia.
Algo que me gustó mucho fue la declaración de que en todas sus fotos y en todos sus trabajos está presente la figura de su madre, como un ángel que lo cuida en todo momento. Creo que este es el mayor homenaje que podÃa tener.
Al salir de la exposición sentà que recobraba un aliento que en ese entonces sentà casi perdido. Vivo convencido de que el arte, en cualquier manifestación, es capaz de transportar y transformar energÃas. Esta exposición titulada "Más allá", es capaz de llevarnos lejos, tal y como su nombre lo indica.
Ahora me gustarÃa saber sobre otras experiencias relativas al arte que hayan sido capaces de revelarles algún secreto escondido dentro de ustedes mismos. Estaré pendiente a los comentarios 😊.
