Hello beautiful people on hive, today I want to share with you one of my survival methods on campus.
As a young girl who lost her dad at 3. Life has not always been easy especially as one without uncles and aunties to support or assist you education, it is just left to my siblings, my mom, me and God. I looked some surviver methods to cover for some expensives on campus.
I did different things from selling of popcorn, to the buy and sales of eggs and other form of food items.
l have always been a lover of fashion and garment making but I lacked the funds to go to a proper training school in fashion designing, so I did fashion in other little ways I could, firstly, to keep my passion going secondly to make ends meet.
So one of the creative ideas I got was to stone dresses for people, So I let people around me know that they could bring their already sown dresses to that I could add a touch of beauty to them.
I summoned the courage to walk up to my colleagues and ask them if they want like to add to designs to their beautiful already made dresses.
Many where amazed and decided to give it a trial, some mocked me, while others where not interested at first.
Any way it went,I made sure I market my self developed skill shamelessly.
At first, I was not really good but, I made sure to get better with every new dress I designed on and yes I was able to made to money. With the money I made, I was able to buy to buy some stoning board that made my work more neat, and I kept getting better with every new order I got and yes, it was my side hustle for the time being.
