First impression of the Logos Hope cruise.
The picture looks dark, sorry about that.
My favorite part, it was so windy!
I got the captain's hat.
The owl book I bought, what a surprise!
In July 2019 I was finishing the last quarter in which I would attend the University. I did not get to finish the race, but I got the intermediate degree that would be like a tertiary, but that's another story, today I come to tell you a short trip I did that month which I enjoyed every second.
That month the cruise ship Logos Hope had arrived at the Port of Buenos Aires, which in short is a giant library that sails around the world to bring knowledge, help and hope to every corner of the planet. Needless to say that it is a Christian non-profit organization and I found out about its arrival in Buenos Aires via Facebook so without thinking about it we went with my mom to visit it.
I want to say that I have always been fascinated with all kinds of ships, although I do not understand anything about them it was always my dream to sail one day on a ship, although this one was anchored, the excitement was great anyway. The trip to the port is a bit long and obviously we got lost at the beginning, we were waiting in line to enter the wrong place: immigration, we almost got lost and went to another country. But then we found other people heading there and we all went together.
The cruise ship was quite large and well maintained, it was crewed by people of different nationalities so I heard different languages on my short voyage through the interiors. Some of the crew members were interns or collaborators for the days that the cruise ship would stay in Buenos Aires and others lived there with their respective families.
We began our tour of the library, I had never seen such a huge library with an incredible diversity of books in all languages. I forgot to photograph it because I was so excited, but above I leave you the only book I bought, an interactive book about owls that is written in English that as soon as I saw it, I did not hesitate to take it with me.
Then we visited the cafeteria and stopped for lunch before the next tour.
The cruise collaborators were giving a tour of the facilities, obviously I was not going to miss the tour and while we were contemplating the interior of the cruise, they were telling us a little about its history which was interrupted by a girl who fell down the stairs, do not worry, fortunately she was not hurt and she herself was laughing at her fall.
The tour lasted about an hour, they let us into the captain's cabin and I took a cap and took a picture wearing it, sorry for my bad pose, I am not very fond of pictures, but I share with you some that I took. I didn't film or take many pictures because I was busy contemplating the site and I almost forgot to capture the moment.
For me, stepping on a boat, no matter what kind it is, is always a source of excitement and I hope that someday I will be able to fulfill my dream of sailing. It was a short but very pleasant and beautiful experience. It happened in 2019, the last joyful year before the pandemic came and took away much of that joy, but not only the pandemic, but other events that marked a before and after in our lives. Since then we do outings, but something was lost, they are not enjoyed as much as before 2020, I hope someday they will return to what they were. (Small parenthesis of how from one year to the next, the world can change drastically).
With this I make my entry into the community to which I wish much success. I had something else prepared, but due to lack of time I couldn't finish it, so I leave you this little experience of some years ago, sorry for not bringing you more content, but these are the only pictures I managed to take. Thank you very much for reading until the end, I appreciate your visit!
