Hello everyone it's another #throwbackthursday, to share some beautiful experiences. Market is one of those places anyone who visited a place for the very first time would want to explore, my arrival in a rocky state known as Ekiti State took me to one of their outstanding though local market where all their agricultural produces are sold and people from other states tends to come there in order to buy farm produces. Igemo Market is located in Ekiti West, I decided to explore this local market for the first since I came to the state in April. Visiting a place for the time, I was very keen to at first knowing my new environment and I heard so much about this very local market, the topographic of the place is amazing, so the market environment is surrounded by rocks, I've already fallen in love with the place so I decided to visit the market some weeks ago in order to buy some food stuff and try their native meal too.
Igemo Market is known as Local Market due number of days it's been sold in a week or months, it's only sold every four days probably from 6:00 am to 10:00 am in the morning, mainly in the morning just that those specific time, it might be as quiet as grave yard. Meanwhile, I needed to stock up my house with some food stuff because I was told that might take up another 8 days before it can be sold so at first, I took a walk around the whole market to view how it looks like and ask some questions before start buying my things.
Just that they have one outstanding attribute of identifying and recognizing visitors as they sold differently, to them with a different price tags to things once they know you are a visitor, so as a smart guy that I am, I went along an indigent of the place who understood and speaks their language, my only work to be taking pictures and giving money once she done with pricing.
Notwithstanding, I love visiting and meeting new people, trying new things while exploring new environment, I had to spent some time in the market studying their own way of doing doing things, they eat more of stew that why their market is full of fresh tomatoes, this stew serve as soup for them, unlike my state where we have different kinds of vegetables for soup, they enjoyed having more pepper in their meals.
After a tour around the entire market then I also buy some fresh tomatoes along with rice, melon, Palm Oil and Groundnut oil, including garri and beans, a pack of maggi and salt, fish with water leaf for bitter leaf soup. That's how I spent my day some weeks ago in Ekiti state, visiting different parts of the state.

Hola a todos, es otro #throwbackthursday para compartir algunas experiencias maravillosas. El mercado es uno de esos lugares que cualquiera que visite un lugar por primera vez querría explorar. Mi llegada al estado rocoso conocido como Ekiti me llevó a uno de sus mercados locales más destacados, donde se venden todos sus productos agrícolas y a donde suele acudir gente de otros estados para comprar productos de la granja. El mercado de Igemo se encuentra en Ekiti West, y decidí explorar este mercado local por primera vez desde que llegué al estado en abril. Al visitar un lugar por primera vez, tenía muchas ganas de conocer mi nuevo entorno y había oído hablar mucho de este mercado tan local. La topografía del lugar es increíble, ya que el mercado está rodeado de rocas. Me enamoré del lugar, así que decidí visitar el mercado hace unas semanas para comprar algunos alimentos y probar también su comida autóctona.
El mercado de Igemo es conocido como mercado local debido al número de días que está abierto a la semana o al mes, ya que solo abre cada cuatro días, probablemente de 6:00 a 10:00 de la mañana, principalmente por la mañana, y solo durante ese horario específico, por lo que puede estar tan tranquilo como un cementerio. Mientras tanto, necesitaba abastecer mi casa con algunos alimentos porque me dijeron que podrían pasar otros ocho días antes de que se vendieran, así que al principio di un paseo por todo el mercado para ver cómo era y hacer algunas preguntas antes de empezar a comprar mis cosas.
Solo que tienen una característica destacada: identifican y reconocen a los visitantes, ya que les venden de forma diferente, con precios distintos, una vez que saben que eres visitante. Así que, como soy un tipo inteligente, me fui con una persona del lugar que entendía y hablaba su idioma, y mi única tarea era hacer fotos y darle dinero una vez que ella hubiera terminado con los precios.
A pesar de ello, me encanta visitar y conocer gente nueva, probar cosas nuevas mientras exploro nuevos entornos. Tuve que pasar algún tiempo en el mercado estudiando su forma de hacer las cosas. Comen más guisos, por eso su mercado está lleno de tomates frescos. Este guiso les sirve de sopa, a diferencia de mi estado, donde tenemos diferentes tipos de verduras para la sopa. Les gusta añadir más pimienta a sus comidas.
Después de recorrer todo el mercado, también compro tomates frescos junto con arroz, melón, aceite de palma y aceite de cacahuete, incluyendo garri y frijoles, un paquete de maggi y sal, pescado con hojas de agua para sopa de hojas amargas. Así es como pasé mi día hace unas semanas en el estado de Ekiti, visitando diferentes partes del estado.
