Today has been a very unique day, yet at the same time, a true #TBT filled with anecdotes shared with the choir members, especially my close friends. For the first time this year and setting aside the political situation currently unfolding in my country, amidst all the projects we have pending, we discussed several upcoming trips scheduled for the remainder of the year; we are hopeful that these will include both domestic and international tours. I chose to start with this photo alongside Kimberly with whom I shared a delicious pizza in Santiago de Compostela during our tour of Spain two years ago, because this afternoon, we spent time talking about our upcoming musical journeys.
The choir has undertaken many journeys since its first tour in New York in 2012; however, I along with several of my closest friends, specifically joined the group in 2017. Those pictured in these photos, my inner circle and myself, may not have traveled quite as extensively as the veteran members, yet we have explored countless cities, sharing experiences, singing, and feasting and drinking in grand style. This is because the warmth of true friendship reigns supreme among us—a dimension we never expected to emerge when we first embarked on this endeavor, back when our sole intention was simply to create art.
Beyond the music, whenever the guys and I go on a trip, we make sure to take full advantage of everything each destination has to offer, whether we are here in Venezuela or in other settings. While we are out exploring, shopping, or engaging in any other extracurricular activities, we always have to be careful not to strain our voices. I know for a fact that some people take the opportunity to check out nightclubs and late, night spots, but we always find a way to keep our voices in top condition. My particular group prefers going out to eat and visiting iconic landmarks in the cities we visit, something I believe many of you have already been able to see in my posts on my Hive blog.
Today, they only mentioned a few cities in the Venezuelan interior, a couple of European countries, and some tentative dates, but that was enough to get us dreaming again about future adventures, places to visit, and even how to plan our free time! 😅 We don't even know if these plans will actually come to fruition in the end, it’s never wise to count your chickens before they hatch—but we went so far as to share photos that some of us didn't even know existed. I was particularly thrilled when it was mentioned that we might possibly get to sing at one of Venezuela’s most majestic Catholic shrines, a place I haven't visited since childhood. It is truly inspiring to know that such camaraderie exists within our inner circle, and that we all share not only our music and our toughest moments, but also the sheer joy of living our lives doing what we love: the art of singing. I look forward eagerly to what lies ahead, yet I am also savoring the present, everything we are doing right now to celebrate our 20th anniversary. As for the past, all that remains is the joy of sharing anecdotes that helped us grow, both as individuals and as a group.
Here’s to many more musical journeys with my friends! 🍻
