Greetings everyone, today, Thursday, I found some photographs of my cousin Nabila when she was pregnant, and that was the last time I was able to share time with her. We improvised and decided to do a photo shoot. I truly had the honor of capturing those happy moments she could have had with her husband while waiting for their first child. They had their second child a few months ago, but we were already out of the country.
Part of my upbringing was with my paternal cousin. We always used to be together for everything. I remember every moment I spent with her as if it were yesterday, just like this moment when I took these beautiful photographs. We can see her with her husband and a little boy. I honestly don't remember who he is, and given all the time that has passed, he must be grown up by now. Time flies, but memories always remain, and even more so with photography; everything is captured forever.
I think I did this photoshoot more than 10 years ago, approximately. It was the first time I took this type of photograph with themes related to motherhood. For me, it was like a practice or exercise to develop my photography skills, but it was also a special moment I shared with my cousin. I honestly didn't think it would be the last time I'd see my cousin in the country, because a few months later she would travel to another country with her husband and their newborn son.
Without a doubt, looking at these photos brings back wonderful memories. Although it would have been nice to have taken some photos with them, but as always, I'm never one for taking photos myself. I hope to see my cousin again in the future and meet her children. The little one still in my belly is named Matias and must be between 9 and 10 years old now. Although he doesn't know me, he's part of my family, part of my cousin, and also of those moments I shared during that photoshoot with my cousin.
All photographs are my own.
