Hello Hive.
Today I wanted to show you an old poster dated in 1955 which promotions “Moros y Cristianos” traditional festival celebrated in my hometown, Jijona.
Moors and Christians festival is a popular Spanish celebration we found mainly in the Valencian Community region of Spain.

The origin of this tradition dates from around the 15th century, and originated as a celebration of the Iberian Peninsula reconquest by Christians against the Arab Empire.

The celebration is mainly carried out with the parade of both sides through the streets of the city, normally accompanied by amazing costumes and floats, horse shows, and music bands that immerse you in the Middle Ages. some festive events in each city may vary from one to another.
