The current events and happenings in the world are no longer strange except you were born last night. The image above is one I very much like for many reasons. The diversity of the people in the picture. Everyone is coming out to lend their voices to the movement. George Floyd is not the first black to be killed by the police because of the colour of his skin.
The black community can't take it any more. Some group of people think it is weird when they say black lives matter. They go by all lives matter. Yes, it is indeed true that all lives matters but a certain part of the human community is under threat because of the colour of their skin.
I got some analogies from the internet and many people I have been a privilege to have a discussion with.
Explaining Black lives matter
So this analogy has been spreading across. I believe Billie Ellish used it in her Instagram post. If a house is on fire, will the fire department go to every house in the neighbourhood or go to the house on fire? Yes, all houses matter but one house is on fire.
now, all lives matter but black lives are in danger. This is the reason for the movement Black Lives Matter.
This Begs the Question: Why The Hate?
Why do they hate us? Why do they hate our existence? I try to relate to what the black man in the USA is going through and their experiences. This racism occurs in many western countries and many organisations.
But enough is enough.
Being black in the USA is living a life of fear. If a black man goes to a store and does not find what he wants to purchase. He will force himself to buy something because they may think he stole something. Being black is seeing the police as your potential killer. Being black is seen as a threat when you raise both hands up or crying that you can't breathe. Being black is seen as a disease. Being black is teaching your kids about the danger of their existence.
Does White Privilege Exist
Yes, it does exist. Should you feel bad as a white person? No, you shouldn't.
However, you can join in the movement to use your privilege to lend a voice. To get the message across.
Our Voices Are Heard
All over the world peaceful protest are being made. Now is the time. There may never be a better chance to send the message about black lives matter for a change to be made.
