Después de evaluar ayer cuál personaje quería hacer en su versión a color para el post del día de hoy, finalmente me terminé decidiendo por el piloto de Mazinger Z, Koji Kabuto.
Recuerdo que cuando lo dibujé, ya había dibujado muchos personajes con cuerpos más musculosos, así que tomar el estilo de él me resultó un poco complicado.
Koji tiene un cuerpo delgado pero atlético. Adicionalmente, si consideramos que el piloto de este famoso Mecha era un adolescente entre los 15-16 años de edad, se entiende más que no tenía una gran masa muscular ya que las actividades a las que se dedicaba no implicaba alto entrenamiento físico como era el caso de los personajes de Saint Seiya, donde vemos que todos los personajes a pesar de sus edades (Seiya tenía 13 e Ikki tenía 15 años), tenían unos cuerpos muy desarrollados lo cual le daba un aspecto de ser mayores.
Koji era bastante bronceado si lo comparamos con otros personajes como Sayaka o su padre, el Profesor Yumi. El color de su traje y cabello ayudaba a resaltar esta característica.
En esta ilustración, me gustó que el haberle dejado parte del uniforme, contribuye a crear contraste en la imagen y hacer al personaje resaltar.
Para el fondo, no quise hacer algo muy detallado, más bien quise que tuviera el efecto de desenfoque para que el fondo no compitiera en atención con el personaje, quien es el punto central de la ilustración. Me gustaban mucho las paletas de tonos que usaban para el cielo y la vegetación, así que las mantuve.

¡Ahora me toca decidir quién será el siguiente! Estoy trabajando a la vez con otra cosa que va a tomar más tiempo antes de poder compartirla por todos los detalles y pasos que conlleva, a pesar de eso, estoy disfrutando mucho trabajar en ella.

After evaluating yesterday which character I wanted to create in color for today’s post, I finally decided on the pilot of Mazinger Z, Koji Kabuto.
I remember that when I drew him, I had already sketched many characters with more muscular bodies, so adopting his style was a bit challenging for me.
Koji has a slender but athletic build. Additionally, considering that the pilot of this famous Mecha was a teenager around 15-16 years old, it makes sense that he didn’t have a lot of muscle mass since his activities didn’t involve high physical training, unlike the characters from Saint Seiya, where we see that all the characters, despite their ages (Seiya was 13 and Ikki was 15), had very developed bodies that made them appear older.
Koji was quite tanned compared to other characters like Sayaka or his father, Professor Yumi. The color of his suit and hair helped highlight this characteristic.
In this illustration, I liked that leaving part of the uniform contributed to creating contrast in the image and making the character stand out.
For the background, I didn’t want to make it too detailed; instead, I wanted it to have a blur effect so that the background wouldn’t compete for attention with the character, who is the focal point of the illustration. I really liked the color palettes used for the sky and vegetation, so I kept them.

Now I have to decide who will be next! I’m also working on something else that will take more time before I can share it due to all the details and steps involved, but despite that, I’m really enjoying working on it.
