Uno de mis personajes preferidos del videojuego Final Fantasy VII es Vincent Valentine. Misterioso y fascinante, Vincent tiene una compleja historia que fue explorada a profundidad en el spin-off Dirge of Cerberus.
Vincent es un ex miembro de los Turks, esta era una organización secreta de Shinra la cual tenía métodos poco ortodoxos y una incuestionable lealtad a la compañía.
Vincent se enamora de Lucrecia Crescent, una científica dedicada al proyecto Jenova, pero ese amor se terminó convirtiendo en una tragedia cuando Lucrecia se decidió someter a experimentos que la llevaron a la muerte y a la creación de Sephiroth.
Vincent, al someterse a sus propios experimentos termina con una transformación que le otorga habilidades sobrenaturales. Sin embargo, esto lo lleva a vivir con un profundo sentimiento de culpa.
Vive en una constante lucha entre su naturaleza y su pasado. Esto lo convierte en un personaje melancólico y atormentado.
En el juego, se destaca por su versatilidad en combate. Es un maestro en el uso de armas de fuego y puede transformarse en varias criaturas poderosas. Esto le permite adaptarse fácilmente a las situaciones en las batallas. Tiene una habilidad para excederse en el límite de sus transformaciones lo cual resulta bastante atractivo en el juego.
Su diseño resulta muy llamativo: abrigo rojo largo, traje de cuero con muchas correas y hebillas, larga cabellera y ojos amarillos. Eso lo hace resaltar de entre los personajes del juego.
Quise hacer un fanart de él en método tradicional, usando acuarelas. Hice el boceto inicial a lápiz y lo entinté con un marcador de tinta china.
Como no tenía papel para acuarelas, lo hice sobre el papel de mi blog de bocetos. Tuve que cuidar la cantidad de agua para evitar que el papel se rasgara. A pesar de no ser papel especial para esta técnica, aguantó bastante bien.
Trabajé el color por capas y para darle un toque de sombreado usé creyones.

His design is very striking: a long red coat, leather outfit with many straps and buckles, long hair, and yellow eyes. This makes him stand out among the characters in the game.
I wanted to create fan art of him using traditional methods with watercolors. I made the initial sketch with pencil and inked it with a Chinese ink marker. Since I didn't have watercolor paper, I did it on the paper from my sketchbook. I had to be careful with the amount of water to avoid tearing the paper. Despite not being special paper for this technique, it held up quite well.
I worked on the color in layers, and to add a touch of shading, I used crayons.
