Para la historia de “Ángel Guardián”, no quise ambientarla en ningún país o ciudad en particular.
Quise dejar eso a la imaginación del lector, así que no hay referencias directas a alguna cultura en particular. Así, cada lector puede identificarse con lo que mejor se adapte a sí mismo, bien sea pensando que el escenario está en algún punto geográfico en particular o uno completamente imaginario.
Sin embargo, hay un detalle en particular que quise agregar: los uniformes de la escuela.
Me basé en los uniformes de mi país de los dos últimos años del bachillerato: Chemise beige, pantalones jeans (Kyrsiel los usa desteñidos mientras que Gersiel de un color más uniforme), zapatos deportivos para Kyrsiel ya que su personalidad es menos formal que la de Gersiel, quien viste mocasines.
En el caso de las chicas de la historia, Midori y Mónica, ellas usan faldas plisadas. No en todas las escuelas se usan faldas, en algunos colegios se combinan con pantalones. Ambas usan medias largas y mocasines.
A mí me gustaron mucho mis uniformes del bachillerato. Creo que llegar a usar chemisé beige era la meta más alta a la que uno podía aspirar de niño cuando empezaba a estudiar. Parecía lejano que llegara ese día y de pronto, un buen día creciste, la usaste y ni cuenta te diste.
Así que quise añadir ese detalle como una nota de nostalgia a mi época de escuela.
Esta fue una ilustración que hice con Kyrsiel y Midori en uniforme escolar.
Primero hice una prueba de color a lápiz. Para haber sido un boceto rápido, le añadí bastante detalle. No sé por qué, pero se me hace difícil hacer un boceto lleno de líneas y con el color fuera del contorno por el coloreado rápido. Creo que mi lado perfeccionista no me lo permite.
Luiego, pasé el boceto en límpio y lo coloreé al estilo anime. Me gusta mucho el contraste de ambas versiones.
Por cierto, para esta ilustración utilicé el programa Medibang. Es un programa gratis, pero tiene muy buen desempeño, así que si estás iniciando en el dibujo digital y no sabes qué programa empezar a usar, esta es una buena opción.

For the story of "Angel Guardian", I didn't want to set it in any specific country or city.
I wanted to leave that to the reader's imagination, so there are no direct references to any particular culture. This way, each reader can identify with what best suits themselves, whether by thinking that the setting is in a particular geographic location or a completely imaginary one.
However, there is one particular detail that I wanted to add: the school uniforms.
I based them on the uniforms from my country for the last two years of high school: beige shirts, jeans (Kyrsiel wears faded ones while Gersiel wears a more uniform color), sports shoes for Kyrsiel since his personality is less formal than Gersiel's, who wears loafers.
In the case of the girls in the story, Midori and Mónica, they wear pleated skirts. Not all schools use skirts; in some schools, they are combined with pants. Both wear long socks and loafers.
I really liked my high school uniforms. I think that wearing a beige shirt was the highest goal one could aspire to as a child when starting to study. It seemed distant that the day would come, and suddenly, one day you grew up, wore it, and didn't even realize it.
So, I wanted to add that detail as a note of nostalgia to my school days.
This was an illustration I made with Kyrsiel and Midori in their school uniforms.
First, I did a pencil color test. For a quick sketch, I added quite a bit of detail. I don't know why, but I find it difficult to make a sketch full of lines and with color outside the outline due to quick coloring. I think my perfectionist side doesn't allow it.
Then, I cleaned up the sketch and colored it in an anime style. I really like the contrast of both versions.
By the way, for this illustration, I used the Medibang program. It's a free program, but it performs very well, so if you're starting in digital drawing and don't know which program to use, this is a good option.
