It is sorry to midnight and I'm still awake, no sense dizziness or falling asleep. My eyes turn around the eyeball, as if it is searching for an object in a circular motion. My body might be craving for sleep, but my eyes are not, ready neither is it willing to rest from rotating. It is difficult to believe that one is awake at midnight just because they want to, there's a reason for staying up at midnight, when others are sleeping and you are comfortably awake. To some persons they are not comfortably awake, however, the reason is keeping them up.
Then, in Secondary school, and Primary School Days we were told that every individual is expected to have at least 8 hours sleep out of the 24 hours in a day. But to be honest I can't even remember the last time I slept in a day. Let me try to elaborate small. Let's say today's Wednesday, and Ideally, I'm supposed to sleep on Wednesday night, but to be honest I always end up sleeping the following day morning, which simply means, why we end up sleeping on Thursday morning, maybe by 2:00 am or 3:00 a.m.etc.
What am I doing up, so late at night? I am a graphics designer, more of my clients works, I do them effectively at night, when everywhere is cool and calm, I can think very well and make right decision, starting from front size, front style, color and etc. So you can see me, staying up at night till 3:00 a.m. sometimes 4:00 a.m. focus on my laptop and doing work.
Second, I am a Nurse/Midwife Officer. Most of the duty we do in nursing profession, include day and night shifts. The most cases, because I enrole into another nursing program to badge an additional license, I most times, attend classes during the daytime, an at night, I go for night shifts in the hospital where I work as a staff Nurse/Midwife.
Working as a Staff Nurse on night shift, is not an easy role to play. Whenever I am assigned to work on night shift, my body have accepted the fact that I cannot sleep until I hand over in the morning by 8:00 a.m. let's say for example I am online shift for one week, my body have adapted that I must be awake to take care of my patient even when they are sleeping, therefore I am on a duty to be away from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following Day.
I prefer to work at night than daytime. Regardless the facts, night are meant for sleeping and resting. But to be honest most of the Midnight owls, who utilize their midnight effectively, are always profitable in whatever they are doing.
I can remember back in those days in nursing institution, during night readings, and how effective I assimilate so fast during my TDB (TILL DAY BREAK) it is sometimes necessary you deny yourself some sleep as a Midnight Owl, to achieve something that ordinary people can't achieve.
