The past few days have been incredibly hard for me.
We tell ourselves that we are going to start when we are ready, waiting for a soundproof plan where all the backlash has been adequately covered. Anything that comes our way, we are ready for it because of our strong plan. Well, here is the life lesson: it would not be the case. Ever heard of the saying: hope for the best and plan for the worst. That is life in a brief sentence. There will be something new that you did not anticipate happening, and when it does, you have to be ready for it.
Here is a lesson I grabbed for an Instagram reel where the guy said, do you know the difference between school and life? In school, you are taught a lesson and then given a test, but in life, you are given a test and then taught the lesson. This is the reason why I say uncertainty in life can be the growth booster you need.
Uncertainty is hard to accept, and let us forget about this write-up I just shared for a moment. I am also scared of uncertainty. Not knowing what will happen next can be terrifying to me, and it can come in different forms. In chess, not knowing what to play next or what my opponent plans to play next can be terrifying. This has even been the genesis of some games I have played in the past; not seeing that move can cost you. Now, when you take it to life, it is not so much of a different ball game entirely. This is the fact that uncertainty remains present because no one can predict what will happen next or even tomorrow.
Aside from the unpredictability that comes with uncertainty, there is still the risk. Uncertainty and risk work closely; one comes with the other. I can say this has been the reason why many people are skeptical about making certain financial decisions. Will this be bullish in the next couple of days? Can I double or triple my money as soon as possible? All is a form of risk, and the best that anybody can do is predict with the available information at their disposal.
In the midst of the risk and unpredictability, some benefits come with uncertainity and that is learning and adapting. There is an opportunity of learning something new in the midst of the uncertainty. This might sound hard, and trust me, it is, because of how you cope, what you do, and how much you can handle. People can never tell how will them can adapt until they are given a certain uncertain situation to handle.
Then there is room for encouragement and humility. There are some uncertain situations you find yourself enroped in, and then you tell yourself I can do this, especially when you have encountered a couple of uncertainties in the past, and you dealt with them. I tell myself more than often that if I am not so sure of what happens, that should not stop me from at least trying. Although the plan has been set in place, there is still room for something going wrong, and that should stop you; rather, prepare yourself to improvise. Finally, there is the humility part. When the plan goes off script, you stay humble in understanding that nothing much is guaranteed; you just have to keep going.
