Through experiences of the past, it is becoming glaring that uncomfortability can come before the reward. You know that saying nothing comes easy in this life, well it is like they were referring to uncomfortability. I have come to understand that it is never a linear process when it comes to the growth of an individual. It can be exponential in some case but never straightforward. There is always that form of setback that keeps one in the state of questioning what they know or what they have been through. This difficulty could come in different ways that keeps one locked in a state of pessimism where they doubt if their efforts are making any form of heads

Notwithstanding the idea of uncomfortability, I have had my share uncomfortability before the reward comes along. It is happens a lot in chess for me especially when I used to study the game and be obsessed about it. I could spend hours playing or studying in preparation for a tournament where I end up underperforming. At such time, it becomes overwhelming for me to bear the uncomfortability that comes with playing poorly. For others or anybody else, it could administer in a different form or a different activity. Nonetheless, the feeling still remains the same.
In another sense, it could be when you are trying out something for the first time. I think the process of trying out new things for the first time has to be spoken about a lot because there is always more stories there to explore. Like for example, the harsh push backs you get when it is not working out for you. A good example is learning to ride a bicycle. If you think about it thoughtfully, you will remember it was a bit challenging at the beginning when you were struggling to place your feet on the pedals. At the same time, it is only those who pull through the early difficulties that get to learn how to actually ride a bicycle. Take the setbacks as a stepping stone to the excellence you seek. It is difficult and challenging, that is certain but what lies ahead is the reward.
As you move further, you begin to understand why they say you have to pass through the funnel to get what you want. It is not easy because if it was, everybody will do it. It takes the strongest of wills, at least in the voice Thanos. While what happens most times is that people give up way to early. With the slightest form of setback, we give up and move on without withstanding the storm to see how strong we might have been. Even if I talk about it, I get caught up in the notion of wanting to give up especially at the hardship I encounter but overtime I have come to realize that there is no field or activity without its difficulty so if I decide to run from one to another, it is only a matter of time before I get tired of running.
You cannot run from every difficulty, for in the end you have to settle on one. I remember a line from a movie where the statement: to live is to suffer was made. You just have to choose your suffering. What is worth your energy and what is not? This is what will sets you apart.
