Would I rather travel to the past or the future, my answer would honestly depend on the context, sorry i'm just an overthinker like that. There are a few important questions that would determine my choice. For example, how far into the past would I be going? And more importantly, would I still have my memories?
If I travelled to the past without my memories, then I really do not see the point. Everything would probably just happen the exact same way again because I would make the same decisions and repeat the same mistakes. It would basically be like living the same life twice without realizing it. In that case, time travel would not really change anything.
However, if the idea is that I would go back with all my memories and experiences, then my answer would definitely be that I would choose to travel to the past.
On a lighter note their are some arguments i would like to have won sometimes you only realize the right thing to say long after an argument is already over. There have been moments where I walked away from a disagreement and later thought, “I really should have said this instead.” Going back would give me the opportunity to handle those moments better and hopefully avoid some unnecessary conflicts.
Of course, it would not only be about fixing arguments. Everyone has made mistakes they wish they could handle differently. Having the chance to go back with the knowledge I have now might help me avoid some of those errors or at least learn from them earlier.
And if I am being honest, there would also be a few practical benefits. For example, if I knew about certain opportunities ahead of time, I could take advantage of them much earlier. Who knows, maybe I would even start investing in platforms like Hive much earlier. That alone could make a huge difference. Sometimes the biggest advantage in life is simply timing and oppurtunity.
I know some may say they'd try to change the course of history in one way or the other but realistically though, would that even be possible, I do not think they/I would suddenly change the course of world history, cos time travel doesnt automatically grant influence. Imagine if i travelled 20 years back and told people that Donald trump will one day be president if the U.S.A, theyd look at me like i was crazy.
One interesting question that comes up with this idea is whether using knowledge of the future would count as gambling. Personally, I do not really engage in gambling because of my religious beliefs but if someone were 100% certain about an outcome because they had already seen it happen, then would it really be considered gambling, wouldnt it simply be more like acting on knowledge.
In the end, I would still choose the past. Talk about the ultimate second chance!!!!!
