On the weekend, we went to a lake near where I live.
The Lake is over the other side of the hill where I found the “rock bigger than my head” for last weeks post. For this week we have to find part of a tree trunk or a large limb. Whilst I was at the lake there were plenty of trees around to take pictures of there was also a lot of wildlife including peacocks and other birds.
The water was up and because the water was up so high, it had flooded at the lower area. And the jetty was just floating out in the middle of nowhere and one of the buildings had water up to it.
The lake is a nice place to go to especially in the summer or on nice days in winter, like Sunday was, just to relax and enjoy. They have barbecue areas and lots of room for the kids to play and have a bit of fun. They also have animals like goats and deer that you can take a walk around and look at.
If you have a boat, you can even take the boat out on the lake, as the lake is deep enough for skiing.
The kids really liked it getting to run around down at the lake. We had a barbecue for lunch and a peacock came up to say hello. After that we went down to the lakes edge and casted a couple of lines. We didn’t stay long but we got a little bit of fishing but we didn’t get to catch any fish.
It was great to get out of it for the day. Going up to the lake made it easier to complete my challenge for this week.
