Ya estamos a pocos días de que llegue diciembre y se puede decir que esta época es de mis favoritas. Todo lo relacionado con la Navidad me encanta, las luces, la música, la comida, la energía que se siente en el ambiente y sobre todo, los bazares y las actividades que empiezan a llenar las ciudades de ese espíritu tan especial.
Este fin de semana tuve la oportunidad de conocer el Bazar de Navidad del Centro Portugués en Caracas, Venezuela. Este club está ubicado en El Cafetal y aunque había escuchado mucho sobre él, nunca había tenido la oportunidad de visitarlo. Me habían contado que uno de sus objetivos es preservar la cultura y las tradiciones portuguesas dentro de la comunidad venezolana, y puedo decir que cumplen bastante bien con esa función.
Tuve la suerte de ir gracias a una amiga con la que hago ejercicio en el gimnasio. Ella y su hija montaron un puesto de panes de pernil y me invitaron a apoyar su emprendimiento. El bazar duró tres días, desde el viernes hasta el domingo. Yo fui el último día, pero déjenme decirles que, aunque era el cierre del evento, había bastante gente disfrutando y recorriendo los stands.
La variedad de cosas que había eran enormes, ropa navideña, juguetes, perfumes, joyería, maquillaje, productos electrónicos y en cuanto a comida, ni hablar. Había cachapas, panes de pernil, hamburguesas y todos los dulces que se puedan imaginar. Por supuesto, también estaba el puesto de mi amiga con sus deliciosos panes de pernil, que estaban ¡buenísimos!
No pude recorrer las instalaciones del club por falta de tiempo, pero por lo poquito que vi, me quedé con muchas ganas de regresar y conocerlo mejor. Se nota que es un espacio bastante grande y muy bonito. Tiene piscina, área de juegos para niños y hasta un espacio para jugar bowling. Así que espero poder volver pronto para explorarlo con más calma, porque me quedé con bastante curiosidad.

December is just a few days away, and I have to say that this is one of my favorite times of year. I love everything about Christmas: the lights, the music, the food, the energy in the air, and above all, the bazaars and activities that fill the cities with that special spirit.
This weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Christmas Bazaar at the Portuguese Center in Caracas, Venezuela. This club is located in El Cafetal, and although I had heard a lot about it, I had never had the opportunity to visit it. I had been told that one of its objectives is to preserve Portuguese culture and traditions within the Venezuelan community, and I can say that they fulfill that function quite well.
I was lucky enough to go thanks to a friend I work out with at the gym. She and her daughter set up a pork leg bread stand and invited me to support their venture. The bazaar lasted three days, from Friday to Sunday. I went on the last day, but let me tell you, even though it was the end of the event, there were still quite a few people enjoying themselves and browsing the stands.
There was an enormous variety of things: Christmas clothes, toys, perfumes, jewelry, makeup, electronics, and, of course, food. There were cachapas, pork bread, hamburgers, and every kind of sweet treat you could imagine. Of course, there was also my friend's stand with her delicious pork bread, which was amazing!
I didn't have time to tour the club's facilities, but from the little I saw, I really wanted to come back and get to know it better. You can tell it's a pretty big and very nice space. It has a swimming pool, a children's play area, and even a bowling alley. So I hope to come back soon to explore it more calmly, because I was left quite curious.
