Decoraciones Navideñas
Nuestras primeras navidades en el hogar
Hola amigos de Hive, paso por aquí para contarles que ayer me agarró el domingo de flojera con los quehaceres del hogar, pero aproveché de dar rienda suelta a mi imaginación para montarme con los adornos navideños, porque soy de esas personas que disfrutan el proceso de creación de las decoraciones y es parte de mi tradición particular empezar en el mes de octubre a comprar los materiales y buscar ideas por todo internet para pasar los próximos dos meses haciendo las respectivas manualidades, por lo que las navidades terminan durando casi tres meses en mi hogar.

Estas navidades son especiales para Christian y para mí porque es la primera que pasaremos en nuestra propia casa, así que a pesar de que estamos aún aplicando pasta profesional para poder pintar las paredes, ya empecé a fabricar esquinas decoradas y a colocar el toque navideño en algunas zonas de la casa.

Entonces, aprovechando una maratón de películas navideñas del que estoy enganchada hace un par de semanas, trabajé un poco con palillos de altura, pega y pabilo para hacer un arbolito de navidad de unos 30 cm de altura para colocar en la mesa de café. La técnica es súper sencilla, eliges una base redonda, en mi caso utilicé una de madera, pero fácilmente podría ser de cartón o anime, y luego empiezas a pegar los palillos en el borde de forma equidistante, para unirlos en la punta con silicón frío, después hay que darle muchas vueltas con hilo pabilo, e incluso llegué a ver ideas con tiras de papel entorchado o tela, que deben untar con pega y escarcha para dar el toque final con una estrella bien brillante.

Otra de las cosas que hice fue terminar de pintar con escarcha dorada y pintura al frío color blanco unas figuras de porcelana que mi mamá me regaló con motivo del nacimiento del niño Jesús. Estas figuras tenían un año rodando entre mis cosas, pero como no habíamos logrado mudarnos no quise pintarlas para evitar que se estropearan, por lo que este fin de semana les llegó su turno. Como la decoración en general la estamos haciendo natural, optamos por colores claros, y para el armado, un pesebre con piñas de pino. El toque especial lo da la escarcha dorada que le aporta brillo a las piezas y refleja la luz de una forma especial. Tengo pensado añadir unas luces navideñas color amarillo para darle calidez a toda la pieza.
Finalmente colgamos nuevamente la corona de piñas decoradas con escarcha y colocamos las luces en la ventana, con esto nos unimos al coro de alegría que se vive en nuestra calle con la llegada del tan ansiado diciembre. Esperamos que estas, nuestras primeras navidades en el hogar, sean memorables y que podamos acuñar recuerdos para agradar nuestros corazones.

Como dato adicional les cuento que hace un par de meses utilicé las perneras de varios jeans que se encontraban desgastados para confeccionar una camisa en varios tonos, que es ajustable con un cordón a nivel de la cintura, pero el primer y único día que la utilicé le cayeron gotas de asfalto líquido en la espalda y esa mancha no salió nunca más, por lo que había dado mi camisa por descartada. Sin embargo ayer aproveché de salvarla para usarla durante estas épocas decembrinas haciendo una decoración con escarcha de colores rojo y dorado, pintura al frio color blanca y mucha pega.

Primero fue un poco desastroso porque empecé dibujando con un marcador las formas, pero olvidé revisar que fuera a prueba de agua y al usar la pintura al frío noté el error. Sin embargo no hay nada que un poco de pega y escarcha no pueda resolver, así que me puse manos a la obra y el resultado fue espectacular.

Christmas Decorations
Our first Christmas at home
Hello friends of Hive, I stopped by to tell you that yesterday I was lazy on Sunday with the chores at home, but I took the opportunity to give free rein to my imagination to set up Christmas decorations, because I am one of those people who enjoy the process of creating decorations and it is part of my particular tradition to start in October to buy the materials and look for ideas all over the internet to spend the next two months doing the respective crafts, so Christmas ends up lasting almost three months in my home.

This Christmas is special for Christian and me because it is the first one we will spend in our own house, so even though we are still applying professional paste to be able to paint the walls, I have already started to make decorated corners and put the Christmas touch in some areas of the house.

So, taking advantage of a Christmas movie marathon that I've been hooked on for a couple of weeks, I worked a bit with chopsticks, glue and wick to make a Christmas tree about 30 cm high to place on the coffee table. The technique is super simple, you choose a round base, in my case I used a wooden one, but it could easily be cardboard or anime, and then start gluing the sticks on the edge equidistantly, to join them at the tip with cold silicone, then you have to give many turns with wick twine, and I even got to see ideas with strips of twisted paper or fabric, which should be smeared with glue and frost to give the final touch with a very bright star.

Another thing I did was to finish painting with gold frost and white cold paint some porcelain figures that my mom gave me for the birth of the baby Jesus. These figures had been rolling around among my things for a year, but since we hadn't been able to move, I didn't want to paint them to prevent them from getting damaged, so this weekend it was their turn. As the decoration in general we are doing it natural, we opted for light colors, and for the assembly, a manger with pine cones. The special touch is given by the golden frost that adds shine to the pieces and reflects the light in a special way. I plan to add some yellow Christmas lights to give warmth to the whole piece.
Finally, we hung the pine cone wreath decorated with frost and placed the lights in the window, with this we joined the chorus of joy that is lived in our street with the arrival of the long awaited December. We hope that this, our first Christmas at home, will be memorable and that we will be able to make memories to our hearts' content.

As an additional fact I tell you that a couple of months ago I used the legs of several jeans that were worn to make a shirt in various shades, which is adjustable with a drawstring at the waist, but the first and only day I used it drops of liquid asphalt fell on the back and that stain never came out again, so I had given my shirt for discarded. However, yesterday I took the opportunity to save it to use it during the Christmas season by decorating it with red and gold frost, white frost paint and a lot of glue.

First it was a bit disastrous because I started drawing the shapes with a marker, but I forgot to check that it was waterproof and when I used the cold paint I noticed the mistake. However, there is nothing that a little glue and frosting can't solve, so I got down to work and the result was spectacular.
