This day was filled with emotions as the moment arrived to enjoy this year's kite festival, which I would be attending for the first time with my family. A week prior, we had planned to have a small picnic in the same place where the festival was going to be held, this time in the recreational park. When we arrived at the park, we met up with my family and sat under the shade of the trees to organize the picnic while we waited for the festival to start. We took advantage of the opportunity to have a snack, which was very refreshing in the heat. While people were arriving around 9:30 am to register and participate in the festival, the first kites could already be seen flying in the sky.
Around 56 participants with kites competed for three physical prizes, which were to be judged in the categories of "Creativity," "Flight Height," and "Size." The creative prize went to a lovely kite with a beautiful macaw decorated with brightly colored paper. The height prize went to a medium-sized kite in shades of orange and violet. And the size prize went to one that looked about my size, adorned with the tricolor flag of our country 🇻🇪. We enjoyed a pleasant day of festival and recreation at the venue. I really needed this kind of healthy recreation, and my family and I were able to enjoy this festival. We hope it can be repeated next year so we can happily participate again.
