Cuando vivía en Argentina ir a una tienda de chinos significaba que era casi seguro que no encontraría cosas de buena calidad. Normalmente conseguía todo mucho más barato, pero era altamente probable que durara poco en el tiempo y que tuviera que volver a comprar.
Pero cuando llegué aquí me encontré con la sorpresa de que en las tiendas de chinos se pueden conseguir cosas muy buenas y a buen precio, por supuesto no todo, por ejemplo, los productos de ferretería es mejor comprarlos en el lugar indicado o los productos de iluminación. Pero el resto de las cosas se pueden conseguir a buen precio y de calidad.
Además, hay algunas tiendas que son enormes y tienen todo lo que uno busque de todos los rubros posibles, incluso allí compro mis lienzos para los cuadros, son de muy buena calidad y están a buen precio. En el caso de las pinturas, óleos, eso sí prefiero comprarlo en otro lugar que se dedique a ello. Un óleo de mala calidad significa que costará más pintar o quedará mal.
When I lived in Argentina, going to a Chinese shop meant that I was almost certain not to find good quality items. I could usually get everything much cheaper, but it was highly likely that it would not last long and I would have to buy it again.
But when I arrived here, I was surprised to find that Chinese shops sell very good quality items at reasonable prices. But everything else can be found at a good price and of good quality.

I even buy my canvases for my paintings there; they are very good quality and reasonably priced. In the case of paints, oils, I do prefer to buy them elsewhere, from a shop that specialises in them. Poor quality oil paint means it will cost more to paint or the result will be poor.

Pero en esta ocasión encontré una tienda que se encuentra en una esquina donde antiguamente había un supermercado y estaba buscando varias cosas por razones específicas. En principio, como saben, me encanta caminar, es un estilo de vida y en verano es indispensable llevar agua siempre.
Por ello estaba buscando una botella de medio litro de agua y que sea térmica. Me encanta tomar agua helada en verano y si es con hielo mejor, siempre me gustó de esa manera, no tomo el agua natural. Y las botellas comunes que uno compra se calientan rápidamente y el agua ya no está fría. Para aliviarme del calor necesito agua congelada, si es posible.
No quería algo sofisticado sino una botella sencilla y el plateado me encanta. Buscando entre tantas cosas hermosas la encontré, justo para mí. Pero por supuesto había muchas más cosas como tazas o jarros con nombres, piedras de acuerdo al signo, esencias para perfumar el hogar. Todas esas cosas me encantan y aunque no las compre, me gusta mirarlas.

I didn't want anything fancy, just a simple bottle, and I love the silver colour. Looking through so many beautiful things, I found it, just right for me. But of course, there were many other things, such as mugs and jugs with names on them, stones according to your star sign, and home fragrances. I love all those things, and even if I don't buy them, I like looking at them.

También me gusta mucho mirar las decoraciones que tienen las tiendas, no sólo las que están exhibidas para la venta sino las que la propia tienda tiene para decorar el local. Muchas veces sorprenden si por ejemplo hay festividades.
Habiendo conseguido la primera cosa que buscaba, fui a la zona de decoraciones para el hogar. No soy fan de la ropa o calzado, para nada, pero los lugares que venden decoraciones me encantan.
Me gusta que dediquen espacios de muestra para que la gente pueda ver como quedaría un ambiente con determinadas cosas o decoraciones y en ese sector hay mucho por ver, incluso objetos que pueden no tener una utilidad para el día a día, pero pueden verse muy bien en la casa.
Como verán, hay absolutamente de todo, para todos los ambientes que uno desee. Hasta había un cocodrilo, no estoy segura si alguien tendría eso como decoración, pero si posiblemente aves. Los atrapa sueños me encantan, pero también los cuadros modernos y abstractos. Bueno en ese caso lo que haría sería tomar el modelo. Estos cuadros se realizan en serie por máquinas y prefiero pintarlos yo misma a mi estilo para decorar mi casa.
I also really enjoy looking at the decorations in shops, not just those that are on display for sale but also those that the shop itself uses to decorate the premises. They often surprise you, for example, if there are festivities.

I like that they dedicate display spaces so that people can see how a room would look with certain items or decorations, and in that section there is a lot to see, including objects that may not be useful for everyday life, but can look great in the home.
As you can see, there is absolutely everything for any room you could want. There was even a crocodile, I'm not sure if anyone would have that as a decoration, but possibly birds. I love dream catchers, but also modern and abstract paintings. Well, in that case, what I would do is take the model. These paintings are mass-produced by machines, and I prefer to paint them myself in my own style to decorate my home.

Cuando voy a una tienda de este estilo no puedo evitar ir a la zona de mascotas y ver que cosas hay para gatos, saben amo a los gatos y miro los juguetes, accesorios, casitas, todo lo que haya para ellos.
Luego seguí investigando la tienda y terminé en el fondo de ella donde hay decoraciones como flores y una zona hermosa para jardines, eso también me gusta mucho. Y justamente cerca de allí estaba la otra cosa que buscaba, velas. Me apasionan las velas sobre todo las aromáticas, pero esta vez buscaba algo práctico. Tengo velas en casa, pero de esas muy anchas y al estar largo rato encendidas generan un hueco en el centro y no iluminan.
Quería velas que tengan el diámetro indicado, en ello radica que se gasten más o menos rápido y la cantidad de iluminación. Esto último también depende del color de la vela. Debían ser blancas. Miré varias de ellas y como en mi familia hay alguien alérgico a la vainilla me decidí por la de coco. La de frutos rojos me gusta, pero es roja, iluminaría poco. He pensado mucho en el apagón que ocurrió hace unos meses y hay que estar prevenidos, sobre todo en verano. Esto puede volver a ocurrir y en esa oportunidad no estaba preparada. Un estilo de vida implica pensar en que cosas podrían pasar, no estar alarmados, pero si atentos.

And right near there was the other thing I was looking for: candles. I love candles, especially scented ones, but this time I was looking for something practical. I have candles at home, but they are very wide and when they burn for a long time, they create a hollow in the centre and don't give off much light.
I wanted candles with the right diameter, as this determines how quickly they burn and how much light they give off. The latter also depends on the colour of the candle. They had to be white. I looked at several of them and, as someone in my family is allergic to vanilla, I decided on coconut. I like the red fruit ones, but they are red and would not provide much light. I have thought a lot about the power cut that happened a few months ago and we need to be prepared, especially in summer. This could happen again and I was not prepared last time. A lifestyle involves thinking about what could happen, not being alarmed, but being alert.

Por el momento encontré lo que buscaba y algunas otras cosas más y como siempre me gusta admirar estos bolsos de Málaga, siempre me gustaron desde que llegué a la ciudad, tal vez con motivos propios de la ciudad, son hermosos.
