When an idea takes shape and grows into a business, no matter how many miles it takes to deliver its signature dessert—the traditional quesillo that captivates Venezuelan palates—I’m talking about the “Lord of the Quesillos,” as he’s known on social media. His name is Felipe Linares. A young entrepreneur, along with his wife, who run the business with great kindness. They handle the preparation of the quesillos and then schedule appointments via social media. Their loyal followers come to the location.
Mr. Felipe Linares, a popular man who has believed in the power of social media, is easy to talk to and comfortable with photos and videos as he serves up portions of quesillo, rice pudding, and strawberries with cream. He works until he runs out of desserts. His project has gained immense popularity throughout Venezuela.
For example, yesterday, May 15, it was his turn to go to Carora, Lara State, Venezuela. The invitation was posted online to meet in front of Farmatodo at 5 p.m. Right on time, a van arrived, and without wasting any time, they began setting up a table, coolers, triangular containers, cups, spoons, and a cell phone tripod—since the entire sales process is recorded—while people lined up in the queue.
Everything was going smoothly; customers were ordering the delicious, traditional quesillo, others the creamy rice pudding, and strawberry-and-cream lovers weren’t far behind—some to take away and others to eat right there. I’d gladly wait in line again for the next visit from the “Lord of the Quesillos.” I think that working with dedication and passion yields positive results. Let me know if you’ve tried the famous and delicious desserts from the “Quesillo Man.”
