My lifestyle is fairly different nowadays. I have no dogs, and my house is full of cats. I have hardly taken a selfie in the last five years. There are more differences but the two I mentioned are the most relevant to this post.
I'll show you snippets of my lifestyle in 2014 today.
Selfies were a big part of my everyday life back then.
Facebook was still a relatively fresh and exciting experience for me back then. Most of the people I know were publishing selfies like crazy, like they found a meaning of life in doing that. You know, the usual selfies in which one tries to look cool, mean, or sexy. Or just show his car, her fabulous food & drink in an expensive restaurant, that kind of stuff.
I started having fun with parodying those Facebook trends.
My modus operandi was taking some usual objects and using them in a slightly unusual way. In this set of four photographs, I put the claw clip for hair on my mouth and nose.
All the selfies were taken in the bathroom. I'm always reflected in the bathroom mirrors in these shots.
For this set of four photographs, I kicked some eggs and baby chickens out of the nest. The thing on the top of my head was part of an Easter decoration. I changed a bit three of these four photographs today in Photoshop.
Here I'm wearing an ordinary hat, but I'm wearing it upside down.
I have many more selfies to show, but right now, I would like to change the subject and present you with some outdoor photographs.
Here you can see some friends posing in Palera.
Palera is a coastal area a couple of kilometers from the village of Liznjan ...
... and five or six kilometers from Medulin, my hometown.
The place can get fairly crowded in summer.
In winter though, Palera is always quiet.
This is my little dog Bepina. Bepina died a couple of years ago.
The daughter of one of the friends who was there with me is walking Bepina on a leash in this shot. In the following photograph ...
... the same girl has her mother on a leash.
It was a funny winter day.
In this photograph, taken a few hours later at home, you can see me doing something on the computer.
My dog Pancho was in the room with me. Pancho died a year or two before Bepina.
In this happy shot, we are all on the beach again.
Here you can see the rusted remains of a military base that had most of this area closed to the public for quite a few decades.
What else can I tell you here? Let's see if I can come up with something. The sea was calm. Quite a few of these photographs sucsesfully prove that fact.
Winter days are short, so our fun on the beach didn't last too long.
Here you can see the same people near the gate to my yard. It was time for them to leave.
I still have the Hello Kitty alarm clock I used in these four selfies.
Here you can see me reading some SyFy books. I mean, I was only pretending to read for the selfie. I am not too bad at reading, but at pretending, I'm much better.
For this group of selfies, I put a necklace with a dolphin-shaped pendant on my freshly shaved head.
Here I embellished my beard and mustaches with a bit of shaving foam.
Here I'm wearing my favorite hat. I'm wearing it upside down, of course.
In this photograph, I'm threatening myself with an insecticide.
This dude isn't me. This is Batman, I mean, my friend Chiro. His first name is Alen. His family name is Cherimovich. We all call him Chiro.
Go Chiro, go! Your old portraits are on Blochchain now! I'll buy you a drink with the few bucks I'll get for this silly post.
Here you can see me posing with a cup of coffee. I mean, the cup was probably empty when the photographs were taken. But those are some nice coffee cups, so ... yeah, you know what I'm trying to say.
In these two fabulous selfies, I'm wearing my favorite top hat and reading a SyFy book again.
In this grainy old photograph, my friend Carla is presenting a street toilet in the city.
I'm waiting for the future to appear inside the crystal ball in these two selfies.
Here I'm holding something that looks like a pretty useless colorful stick. Can't tell you what this thing was made for besides to be used in selfies.
Here I tried to create a hairstyle using the shaving foam that helped me remove my hair a bit earlier.
Here I'm wearing my favorite top hat upside down.
In these two selfies, I'm trying a different hairstyle.
Here you can see some houses in my neiberhood.
I was wearing glasses for fun in this selfie. Today I wear them to be able to write this post.
Here you can see a mole on the top of my head. The mole is holding a heart. It's a cute stuffed mole bought in one of the two local supermarkets.
I'm posing with a candle in this set of eight photographs.
This photograph was taken on the stretch of coastline a couple of kilometers from the village of Shishan. A little less than ten kilometers from where I live.
I found some edible mushrooms on that occasion.
The mushrooms I'm holding in some of these pictures are the delicious "horn of plenty" fruiting bodies (Craterellus cornucopioides).
All my dogs were there with me on that occasion.
Here you can see me preparing, choosing the most fashionable clothes and stuff like that, before going to Shishan Riviera.
This selfie was taken in the pretty tall mirror situated in the hall.
I'm wearing an impressively large sombrero in this tryptich.
Here you can see the heart-shaped potato I dug with my own hands from the dusty soil of Palera.
It felt like ripping out the heart of a dormant beast.
I must have been blue when this photograph was taken.
Here you can see me posing with glasses after shaving my head in a slightly different way than usual.
Here you can see another shot from the woods in the area around the village of Shishan.
I spent most of my winter days outdoors in 2014, but ...
... but on the 29th of December 2014 - my birthday, I photographed myself watching the TV in the midlle of a rainy day.
In this series of photographs, you'll see the stuff that was going on on the TV screen and my reactions to that crap.
Here you can see me watching some pretty lady earning her bread in one of the moronic soap operas made in Croatia. Croatian soap operas aren't better or worse than other soapy shit produced all around the globe. In this crap, we are all brothers and sisters.
The channel called Baby TV was more psychedelic than the illustrations on the prog-rock record covers from the early seventies.
I don't know what I was watching here.
These are the scenes from a Clint Eastwood movie. I don't know what movie was this, but ...
... but, as you can see here, Clint was in it. So, yeah, it's a Clint Eastwood movie, right?
I'm dancing to a Bruce Springsteen song in one of these two shots.
Here you can see another pretty lady from a moronic Croatian soap opera.
Here you can see the military personnel from a very good Czechoslovakian comedy.
This is one of the many corrupt politicians that the Croatian system and dumb Croatian voters produced in the last few decades. This motherfucker is sleazy as a bunch of snails having sex and ejaculating simultaneously. What a son of a shifty mollusk bitch!
This is the music video for "In Bloom." I always loved Nirvana.
I can't tell you what was I watching here. But it seems that the thing got me sleepy.
And that's it. The end of the show.
I mean the end of this distinct segment of the post, not of the entire thing.
I have more selfies and other stuff to show you today.
I was playing cards with my reflection on the 23rd of December.
I've lost some money on that occasion.
Can't tell you the exact amount.
I'm holding a match in this shot.
Here you can see the candle I lit with that match.
This is my dog Pancho. he was resting in the yard when the photograph was taken.
here you can see a friend playing with a dog called Pepi.
In this tryptich, Bepina is grinding a beef bone.
Here you can see the same friend talking with Pancho and Pepi.
This set of six photographs shows the same friendly trio having fun in the backyard.
I'm wearing a very fashionable purse in this tryptich.
Here you can see me wearing the sink plunger as a hat.
Here you can see a friend posing in the armchair in front of my computer. In the following photograph ...
... the same friend is using my computer to communicate with ghosts late at night while I'm sleeping.
Here you can see some cats in my yard. They weren't completely domesticated like the ones I have now.
These cats were resting on the wall of my neighbor's garden.
This is a detail from the bay laurel tree in my yard. The following photograph ...
... shows the same thing presented in a slightly different light.
This is just another selfie presented in two different versions.
Here you can see me wearing a lovely white cap in six old photographs I changed a bit today in Photoshop.
This tryptich documents me talking with two of my closest friends. The photographs were taken on the 29th of December in my living room.
This is a detail of the decorative vine that was climbing the facade of an old house somewhere near the main square of my hometown.
This photograph shows the same thing plus a fragment of the beautiful red leaf blurred in the foreground.
There was frost on the ground on the last day of 2014, early in the morning.
I was walking barefoot becouse I felt the need to prove to myself that I can be one resilient motherfucker if I want to.
You can see me looking through the central part of the toilet paper roll in this shot. At some point ...
... everything turned blue for a minute or two. I still can't explain what happened.
You can see me holding a queen of hearts in this selfie.
I found an old phone in my parent's apartment on the 14th of December.
Here you can see me trying to get in contact with parallel dimensions through that thing.
I caught this psychedelic detail somewhere in my room.
There's nothing to say about this shot. just another useless selfie.
I'm posing with Bepina in this photograph.
You can see me blurred and in focus in these two shots.
here I'm posing with a claw clip for hair on my nose ... again.
In the last three photographs of this post ...
... I'm wearing the same white cap ...
... in three different ways.
AND THAT'S IT. HAVE A GREAT DAY OR NIGHT, WHEREVER ON THE PLANET YOU ARE. AS ALWAYS HERE ON HIVE, THE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE MY WORK.
