Greetings to everyone in the lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post anything, but I’ve been really busy and haven’t had (let’s say) the time to post as consistently as I used to. However, I’m back now to bring you some good and exciting news. One of the big pieces of news is that Canticum Merú will be performing at the "National Choir Festival in honor of the centennial of Modesta Bor’s birth." We’ll be performing at the Teresa Carreño Theater, in the José Félix Rivas Hall. The event runs from June 15 to 20, but we’ll be performing on June 13. So we’re really excited!
I had kept this news to myself for a while because we first needed to get started with rehearsals and the necessary adjustments to the repertoire, so sharing the good news wasn’t a priority at that time—and besides, it was a matter of prudence. Our director, Irma, was truly overjoyed when she received the invitation and spent the entire day getting everything organized. It’s funny because we had actually planned to travel to Mérida to participate in the event honoring Modesta Bor, but unfortunately, we couldn’t make it work financially and decided to cancel our attendance… but as luck would have it, we ended up being invited to this beautiful event in Caracas—a golden opportunity and well-deserved!
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por acá para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. Ya tenía algún tiempo sin poder publicar algo, pero estuve realmente ocupada y no tuve (digamos) el espacio para poder publicar de forma constante a cómo solía hacerlo de costumbre. Sin embargo, ya aquí estoy de vuelta para traerles buenas y agradables noticias. Una de la grandes noticias es que Canticum Merú estará presente en el "Encuentro Nacional de Coros en homenaje al centenario del nacimiento de Modesta Bor". Nos estaremos presentando en el Teatro Teresa Carreño, en la Sala José Félix Rivas. El evento tendrá lugar desde el 15 al 20 de junio, pero nosotros nos presentaremos el 13 de junio. Así que ¡estamos realmente emocionados!
Había guardado esta noticia por un tiempo porque era necesario (primeramente) ponernos en marcha con los ensayos y ajustes necesarios del repertorio, por lo que dar las buenas nuevas no era una prioridad para ese momento y además, era una cuestión de prudencia. Nuestra directora Irma realmente estaba muy feliz cuando recibió la invitación y estuvo todo ese día poniendo en marcha todas las exigencias. Es curioso porque justo se tenía planeado viajar hasta Mérida para poder participar en el evento en honor a Modesta Bor, pero lamentablemente fue imposible reunir los medios y se decidió cancelar la asistencia al evento... pero con tan buena suerte que terminamos siendo invitadas a este bello evento en Caracas ¡una oportunidad de oro y buen merecida!
I’m too young and new a member to have witnessed Canticum’s entire history, but you don’t have to have been there to appreciate the past, the legacy left behind, and the work being done today by Irma and the members. Because yes, they’ve all made Canticum something great. And as a lover of the arts, I couldn’t be happier or prouder to belong. And even if that weren’t the case, it makes me happy to know that such a significant cultural movement exists in my country. By the way, I just wanted to mention that when I speak of luck, I’m referring to the kind of event that happens and is timely for anyone who is prepared to receive it. And Canticum was more than prepared and ready to receive and accept this opportunity. Wish us the best of luck as we represent Bolívar State. Here are the photos taken to promote the event. Yo soy un miembro muy joven y nuevo cómo para poder ser testigo de toda la trayectoria de Canticum, pero no es necesario estar presente para valorar el pasado, las huellas dejadas y el trabajo del ahora que ha realizado la maestra Irma y sus integrantes. Porque sí, todas ellas han hecho de Canticum algo grande. Y yo cómo amante de las artes, no podría estar más feliz y orgullosa de pertenecer. Y aunque así no fuera, me hace feliz saber que en mi país existe este movimiento cultural tan significativo. Que por cierto, justo quería mencionar que cuando hablo de suerte me refiero a ese tipo de acontecimiento que sucede y qué es oportuno para todo aquel que está preparado para recibirlo. Y Canticum estaba más que preparado y listo para recibir y aceptar esta oportunidad. Deséenos la mayor de las bendiciones, para representar al estado Bolívar.
