Greetings to everyone in the LifeStyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life. This past Friday was especially busy, so I tried to summarize what happened that day… though it really wasn’t possible, since I believe that every moment and event I experienced that day deserves its own post. So for now, I’ll share with you what the reopening of the “M.O.S. Book Club” was like at the school where I work. This was a particularly meaningful event.
Let me tell you a little bit about this book club to give you some context. The truth is that it started a few years ago with teacher Isis, who wanted a space where children could read and get closer to reading. The downside is that with the arrival of the pandemic and other factors, the club was put on hold... so the years went by, and recently it was decided to revive the idea, and now Teacher María Esther is the one who will lead this reading club. She is the one who has been working hard (along with other colleagues) to make sure the new space for the club was perfect. And so the big opening day arrived. A beautiful Friday morning
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de LifeStyle. El día de hoy me uno por acá para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. Este viernes fue especialmente ocupado por lo que traté de resumir bastante lo que sucedió en ese día... aunque realmente no fue posible, ya que creo que en realidad, cada momento y evento que viví ese día merece una publicación aparte. Así que por los momentos les compartiré cómo fue la reapertura del “Club de Lectura M.O.S.” en el colegio en el cual trabajo. Este fue un evento especialmente significativo.
Les cuento un poquito sobre este club de lectura para ponerlos en contexto. Lo cierto es que nació hace algunos años con la profesora Isis, quién deseaba un espacio para que los niños pudieran leer y acercarse a la lectura. Lo malo es que con la llegada de la pandemia y otros factores, el club quedó suspendido... así que pasaron los años y recientemente se decidió retomar esa idea y ahora la profesora María Esther es quién tomará la dirección de este club de lectura. Ella es quién estuvo trabajando arduamente (junto con otros compañeros de trabajo) para poder lograr que el nuevo espacio para el club estuviera perfecto. Y así llegó el gran día de la apertura. We were joined that day by several teachers from the school and a number of children who love to read. The children were thrilled to be able to come in. A few opening remarks were made, and the book club officially opened at around 8:30 in the morning. We were welcomed by a quartet of musicians from Ciudad Guayana, who played a few pieces for the guests. Then the group Moka Producciones took the stage; they were the storytellers for that morning. The children were fascinated by the stories they were telling. So, after they told three stories, the activity came to a close. It was wonderful to be part of this event, and I’m also very grateful for the opportunity to create the mural. Everyone liked it, and that was nice to hear. I’m sure this place will bring many children here to discover reading and make it a part of their lives. As always, a huge thank you to everyone who made this possible. Para ese día contamos con la presencia de algunos docentes del colegio y varios niños que aman la lectura. Los niños súper entusiasmados por poder entrar. Se dieron algunas palabras y oficialmente se abrió el club de lectura a eso de las 8:30 de la mañana. Nos recibió el cuarteto de músicos de Ciudad Guayana, quienes tocaron algunas piezas para los invitados. Luego estuvo presente el grupo Moka Producciones quienes fueron los cuentacuentos de esa mañana. Los niños estaban fascinados con las historias que ellos estaban contando. Así que tras tres cuentos que contaron, se dió por finalizada la actividad. Fue muy bonito poder estar presente en este evento y y además estoy bastante agradecida por haber podido tener la oportunidad de hacer el mural. A todos les gustó y eso fue algo agradable de oír. Estoy segura de qué este lugar a traerá a muchos niños para que conozcan la lectura y la haga una aliada en su vida. Como siempre gracias infinitas a a todas las personas que hicieron esto posible.
