Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share another day in my life with you. This time, I’m writing about my visit to UCAB, where I visited Escaleras al Arte, a space dedicated to exhibiting works of art by various artists. This March (on March 8, in commemoration of International Women’s Day), the collective exhibition “Miradas de Marzo” was presented, featuring exclusively female artists from the city of Guayana. Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión se trata sobre mi visita a la UCAB, dónde estuve visitando Escaleras al Arte, un espacio dedicado la exposición de obras de artes de diferentes artistas y que en esta ocasión, por el mes de marzo (8 de marzo, en conmemoración del día de la mujer) se presentó la exposición colectiva “Miradas de Marzo”, donde participaron únicamente mujeres artistas de la Ciudad de Guayana. Aquí les presento las obras que están exhibidas y por supuesto,los invito a visitar el lugar para que puedan disfrutar de ellas. Acompáñame.
The opening was on March 6. As of this writing, the exhibition is still open. Sixteen visual artists from Ciudad Guayana participated in this exhibition, using a variety of techniques: ceramics, painting and drawing, textile art, metalwork, sculpture, and even an installation. All of the works are located on the stair landings, where as you go up (or down) you’ll find the pieces by all these artists. I found it interesting that they all had something in common or shared a certain similarity. Especially with what I imagine was the idea behind this exhibition: artworks that were deeply personal and that would connect with each artist’s femininity. I believe we all have something to share about our life experiences as women… And what’s valuable is also having the ability to bring that idea to life.
I thought it was a great tour, and I was also very happy to discover this space, as I’d actually been wanting to visit an art exhibition for quite some time. I visited several places that day, but I’ll tell you about them later. I’d love to meet the artists and hear from them directly what inspired them to create the pieces they exhibited. La inauguración fue el día 6 de marzo. Al momento de escribir esto la exposición sigue estando disponible. En dicha exposición participaron 16 artistas plásticos de Ciudad Guayana bajo distintos tipos de técnicas: cerámica, pintura y dibujo, arte textil, orfebrería, escultura y hasta una instalación. Todas ellas se encuentran en los descansos de las escaleras, dónde conforme vas subiendo (o bajando) encontrarás las obras de todas estas artistas. Me pareció interesante que todas tenían en común o guardaban entre sí cierta similitud. Sobre todo con lo que imagino fue la idea para esta exposición: piezas de arte que fueran sumamente personales y que conectarán con la feminidad de cada artista. Yo creo que todas tenemos algo que contar sobre nuestra experiencia de vida siendo mujeres... Y lo valioso está además en poder tener la habilidad para materializar la idea.
Me pareció un buen recorrido y además, estaba muy feliz de poder encontrar este espacio pues ciertamente yo tenía ya tiempo queriendo asistir a una exposición de arte. Ese día visite varias cosas, pero ya les iré contando. Me gustaría conocer a las artistas y escuchar de ellas mismas qué las llevó a crear la pieza que exhibieron.
