Hi friends, happy afternoon everyone, I hope you're all doing great. Sunday started out super normal. My boyfriend and I had planned to go grocery shopping, and his parents did too, so we all went together in their car. When we were at the supermarket, my boyfriend told me his stomach hurt a little, but we thought it was just something that didn't agree with him. We continued shopping as usual, and we got home around 1 p.m. He went straight to bed and started complaining about the pain. I remembered I had some Buscopan and gave it to him, but the pain got worse and he felt nauseous, so we went to a nearby medical center. I have to mention, the doorman there wasn't very friendly, but I didn't want to leave because he was in so much pain. Unlike the doorman, the doctor was very kind and examined him. They gave him ranitidine and sent us home, also prescribing Buscopan every 8 hours.
Well, he was much better. I made him some boiled potatoes for dinner, without fat or dairy, since they had cut those out. He was really much better; he wasn't in pain anymore. We went to sleep, and at 2:00 AM he called me saying he was in pain, so I gave him the Buscopan as the doctor ordered. But it didn't work; he was in more and more pain. I heated some water to put on his stomach, and then he started vomiting again. It got to the point where he said he couldn't stand it anymore, so we called his dad because our car was broken down, and it was 2:30 AM. We got dressed immediately and went to the Villa Rosa hospital (it's a little farther away, but the doctor said that if he was in pain again, we should go there). When we arrived, the doorman was very kind, and the doctor examined him. They didn't find anything wrong, and they told me to buy several things: IV fluids, Buscopan ampoules, metoclopramide ampoules, ranitidine ampoules, and omeprazole, and an IV catheter. 20. Well, I went with his dad to a 24/7 pharmacy and thank God we found all the medications and it only cost me $10. I was really nervous that it would be much more because we didn't have much money, as I told you earlier we did the grocery shopping.
We went back to the hospital and they started an IV and administered the anti-nausea medication by injection. The other medications were dissolved in the IV fluids. Once the medication was finished, they sent us home, of course with a series of tests that we have to do. It's been two days since the incident and he's been feeling great. They prescribed omeprazole tablets to take in the morning and a diet free of fat, wheat, and dairy for at least three days. The doctor told us that he's very young and it was probably just indigestion or gastritis, but thankfully the pain and vomiting have stopped. He's been feeling much better and we hope to be able to do the corresponding tests this week.
