Since 2022, we hadn’t traveled to visit my wife’s family in the municipality of Juan José Mora, popularly known as Morón. Every time we tried, our car would break down seriously, forcing us to postpone the trip. My wife’s father is 75 years old, and we believe it’s important to spend as much time with him as possible. After losing my mother at just 63, we want to make the most of our time with our elders.
De regreso a Morón - Un viaje lleno de emociones y reencuentros familiares
Desde 2022 no viajábamos a visitar la familia de mi esposa en el municipio Juan José Mora conocido popularmente como Morón, cada vez que lo intentábamos nuestro carro presentaba una avería seria y teníamos que posponer el viaje. El padre de mi esposa tiene 75 años, consideramos que es importante compartir lo más que podamos con él, después de la pérdida de mi madre con apenas 63 años, queremos disfrutar de nuestros viejitos al máximo.
We worked hard starting in November of last year to fix up our little car as best as we could. Some of its issues were related to the front suspension—basically, the front wheels, to put it simply. Because of this, driving was nerve-wracking. Every strange noise or pothole would scare us, especially since the road to the Carabobo coast is one of the most dangerous out there. But everything turned out fine, and we made it to our destination.
Trabajamos duro desde noviembre del año pasado para poder arreglar lo mejor posible nuestro carrito, algunos de sus desperfectos tenían que ver con el tren delantero, relacionado con las ruedas delanteras por decirlo de otra manera, por lo tanto, la paranoia no era normal al rodar, porque cualquier sonido o caer en un bache nos asustaba, ya que la vía hacia la costa carabobeña es una de las más peligrosas que hay, pero todo salió bien y pudimos llegar a nuestro destino.
We arrived at the family’s house around noon, and they already had lunch ready for us. I was thrilled because they made fried fish for us. I owe you a photo because I felt too shy to take one, but I’ll tell you this: one of my dreams is to live near the sea and enjoy the benefits of being able to fish or buy fresh fish and seafood, which I absolutely love.
Llegamos a casa de la familia cerca del mediodía y ya nos tenía listo el almuerzo, yo estaba super feliz porque nos hicieron pescado frito, les debo la foto porque me daba pena que me vieran hacerlo, pero les cuento que ese es uno de mis sueños, vivir cerca del mar y gozar de las bondades que te da poder pescar o comprar pescado fresco, o los frutos del mar, lo cual me encanta.
It was heartwarming to see my kids spending time with their cousins. Even though the older cousins, who are closer in age to my oldest son, weren’t there, and the ones closer in age to my youngest daughter were also missing, the twins were there. They just turned 4 this year, and the last time we saw them, they couldn’t walk or talk yet. They’re adorable—they brought out all their toys to play with their cousins and uncles. It was so sweet to hear them talking and asking us all kinds of questions.
Fue lindo ver a mis hijos compartir con sus primos, aunque no estaban los primos mayores contemporáneos con mi hijo mayor, y los contemporáneos con mi hija menor, estaba las gemelas que este año apenas cumplen 4 añitos, y la última vez que las vimos no caminaban ni hablaban. Estan preciosa, sacaron todos sus juguetes para jugar con sus primos y tíos, fue lindo escucharles hablar y hacernos todo tipo de preguntas.
The trip back was tough. The road is challenging because we have to climb a lot, and the car did give us trouble at the end of the journey. But we’ll do everything we can to go back soon. We miss spending time with family so much. Where we live now, we feel very isolated—our friends have left the country. That’s why we want to return soon and enjoy more moments like these.
El viaje de regreso fue duro, la carretera es difícil porque debemos subir mucho y el carro si fallo al final del viaje, pero haremos todo el esfuerzo por volver, ya que extrañamos mucho compartir en familia, estamos muy solos donde vivimos, los amigos se han ido del pais, por eso queremos volver pronto y disfrutar de mas momentos como este.
