La semana pasada fuimos hasta el hospital para que ella recibiera una transfusion y es que su nivel de hemoglobina estaba muy bajo y necesitaba una nueva transfusion. Bueno dos en realidad, pero se le hace una transfusión por día.
Good evening, Lifestyle friends. Today I want to continue sharing with you this difficult journey with my mother's illness. Last week we went to the hospital so she could receive a transfusion because her hemoglobin level was very low and she needed another transfusion. Well, two actually, but she receives one transfusion per day.
Al llegar le toman los signos vitales y en esta oportunidad tenía la tensión baja y la atendió un doctor que no la había visto ante sy decidió hacerle una revisión general. Mientras el la examinaba yo me sali de la habitación.
Upon arrival, they took her vital signs, and this time she had low blood pressure. A doctor who hadn't seen her before attended to her and decided to give her a general check-up. While he was examining her, I left the room.
El doctor decidió ordenar una tomografía abdominal pélvica con doble contraste y es que ya llevamos tantos meses y aún no sabemos que tiene mi mamá y el doctor dijo que lo que nos ayudará a saber que esta pasando será está tomografía.
The doctor decided to order a double-contrast abdominal and pelvic CT scan because it's been so many months and we still don't know what's wrong with my mom, and the doctor said that this CT scan will help us find out what's going on.
Para poder hacer la tomografía necesitábamos hacer el examen de la creatinina, así que pasamos por la clínica para hacer este examen y estaría listo en dos horas. Además ella tenía que estar en ayuno para poder hacer la tomografía.
To perform the CT scan, we needed to have a creatinine test, so we went to the clinic to get it done, and it would be ready in two hours. She also had to fast before the scan.
Pagamos la tomografía y nos dieron un liquido que ella debía tomar en casa y luego íbamos a ir a la clínica. Una vez se tomó todo esté líquido nos fuimos a la clínica y nos hicieron esperar unos minutos para terminar de prepararla para este examen.
We paid for the CT scan and they gave us a liquid she was supposed to drink at home before we went to the clinic. Once she had finished the liquid, we went to the clinic and they made us wait a few minutes while they finished preparing her for the exam.
Algo de lo cual estoy muy agradecida es que toda mi familia nos ha apoyado y hemos estado juntos. Enfrentando estos tiempos difíciles, confiando que pronto todo mejore y la salud de mi mamá sea reestablecida porque lo más difícil de todo esto es verla tan débil.
Something I'm very grateful for is that my whole family has supported us and we've been together. Facing these difficult times, I'm trusting that things will soon get better and my mom's health will be restored because the hardest part of all this is seeing her so weak.
Nos pasaron a un cuarto con una enfermera y está le coloco una vía a mi mamá por la cual se le suministraría parte del contraste para realizar la tomografía.
We were taken to a room with a nurse, and she inserted an IV into my mother through which she would receive some of the contrast agent for the CT scan.
Y luego pasamos a otro cuarto donde está la máquina que realiza la tomografía, como mi mamá no se sentía bien me permitieron estar en el cuarto mientras se realizaba la tomografía.
And then we went to another room where the tomography machine is located. Since my mom wasn't feeling well, they allowed me to be in the room while the tomography was being performed.
