Parte de mi familia paterna vive en el estado Anzoátegui, en puerto la cruz y luego de pasar 40 días en la isla conmigo acompañándome en el proceso de la muerte de mi mamá me invitaron a pasar unos días en su casa en puerto la cruz y la verdad es que yo tenía más de 8 años sin viajar y aún con muchas dudas decidí aceptar la invitación y viajar a otro estado para cambiar un poco mi rutina.
Part of my paternal family lives in the state of Anzoátegui, in Puerto La Cruz, and after spending 40 days on the island with me, accompanying me through the process of my mother's death, they invited me to spend a few days at their house in Puerto La Cruz. The truth is that I hadn't traveled in over 8 years, and even with many doubts, I decided to accept the invitation and travel to another state to change my routine a little.
Prepare dos bolsos con mi ropa, unas cosas que le compré a la bebé de una amiga y por su puesto me traje mi batidora por si debo hacer alguna torta mientras estoy en casa de mi familia. La idea inicial es pasar 15 días en este estado para despejar un poco la mente... Luego de tener todo el equipaje listo pasamos por una farmacia de camino al terminar de ferrys y es que últimamente sufro de mucho dolor de cabeza y necesitaba estás pastillas.
I packed two bags with my clothes, some things I bought for a friend's baby, and of course, I brought my mixer in case I need to bake a cake while I'm at my family's house. The initial idea is to spend 15 days like this to clear my head a bit... After getting all my luggage ready, we stopped at a pharmacy on the way to the ferry terminal because I've been suffering from terrible headaches lately and needed these pills.
Llegamos bastante antes de la salida del ferry ya que necesitábamos confirmar nuestros tickets. En esta oportunidad viajaba con mi tía y un primo, ellos como toda mi familia han sido mi gran apoyo en este difícil momento el cual estoy viviendo y sinceramente gracias a ellos esto a sido un poco más llevadero.
We arrived well before the ferry's departure because we needed to confirm our tickets. This time I was traveling with my aunt and a cousin; they, like my whole family, have been a great support during this difficult time, and honestly, thanks to them, it's been a little more bearable.
La verdad es que la sala de espera del terminal de ferrys está bastante bien arreglada, tiene un buen aire acondicionado y la espera se hace bastante tranquila. La verdad es que teníamos unas cuantas maletas y mientras mi tía y mi primo se informaron de algunas cosas yo me senté y cuide todo el equipaje.
The truth is, the ferry terminal waiting area is quite nicely appointed, has good air conditioning, and makes the wait rather peaceful. We had quite a few suitcases, and while my aunt and cousin looked into some things, I sat and watched all the luggage.
El viaje dura aproximadamente 5 horas, así que antes de salir de casa me prepare algo de comida y utilice un recipiente que me regaló mi mejor amiga. Es mejor ir preparados y llevar comida y bebida para lo que dura el viaje.
The trip takes about 5 hours, so before leaving home I packed some food and used a container my best friend gave me. It's best to be prepared and bring food and drinks for the entire trip.
Cuando faltaba poco para poder comenzar a abordar el ferry nos tocó pasar las maletas por el scan para asegurar que no lleváramos nada ilegal en las maletas. Este proceso fue bastante rápido.
Just before we were about to board the ferry, we had to put our luggage through the scanner to make sure we weren't carrying anything illegal. This process was quite quick.
Luego nos revisaron los tickets y pudimos embarcarnos en el ferry, la verdad es que fue un viaje bastante cómodo, el ferry tenía un aire acondicionado bastante fuerte. Mi tía y mi primo tenían bastante cosas para comer. Estuvimos hablando bastante en el tiempo que duró el viaje, estuvimos hablando bastante de mi mamá ya que antes de saber si condición de salud habíamos estado planeando un viaje hacia puerto la cruz, tal vez el viaje no se dió como queríamos pero estoy segura que desde donde ella se encuentra debe estar feliz por ver qué estoy haciendo cosas que antes no me hubiera atrevido. Les iré contando más de como van mis días en puerto la cruz.
Then they checked our tickets and we were able to board the ferry. It was actually a pretty comfortable trip; the ferry had really strong air conditioning. My aunt and cousin had plenty of food for us. We talked a lot during the trip, mostly about my mom, since before we knew about her health condition, we had been planning a trip to Puerto La Cruz. Maybe the trip didn't go as planned, but I'm sure that wherever she is, she must be happy to see me doing things I wouldn't have dared to do before. I'll keep you updated on how my days in Puerto La Cruz are going.
