Walking through Darwin Forest is always a nice peaceful experience with lots of birdsong. The path winds through the tall trees, with a little bit of sunlight peeping through the leaves. As per usual, the weather is slightly hit and miss.
Today, I noticed a small bushcraft den that had been built between the trees.
Next to the den, I saw a tree stump with pine cones placed on top. It was a nice decoration.
The tree bark was a nice green with different shades. I liked the texture of it. As children, we used to do bark rubbing where you'd press paper against the tree and rub with a crayon or pencil. The pattern would then transfer to the paper. Simple things, please simple minds. ๐
The gorse bushes lined the side of the footpath with their bright yellow flowers.
I like seeing the contrasting colours of the green holly bush next to the beech tree with copper coloured leaves. As my walk comes to an end, itโs the small details such as the fresh air, quiet paths, the birds singing, and colours that are the things I remember.
