El espectacular centro comercial ICONSIAM en Bangkok [ESP/ENG]

Hola a todos! les cuento que después de volver de la isla Koh Chang a Bangkok, nos hospedamos en el hotel Pullman Bangkok Hotel G y desde la gran ventana de nuestra habitación podíamos ver a lo lejos un centro comercial que se veía muy colorido e interesante llamado ICONSIAM, y al ver buenas reseñas en internet sobre este, decidímos que teníamos que visitarlo y por supuesto lo hicimos.

Hi everyone! I wanted to tell you that after returning from Koh Chang to Bangkok, we stayed at the Pullman Bangkok Hotel G. From the large window in our room, we could see a shopping mall in the distance that looked very colorful and interesting—it was called ICONSIAM. Since we saw good reviews online about it, we decided we had to visit, and of course, we did.

Llegamos hasta allí caminando hasta el Muelle Oriental ya que allí tomaríamos un barco que nos dejaría cerca de este centro comercial y es que el mismo está ubicado a orillas del río Chao Phraya. Allí en el muelle tardamos un poco porque esperabamos el último barco por este día y es que ya era muy tarde pero no tuvimos problemas esperando, Olivia estaba entretenida viendo a los demás barcos pasar y el costo del boleto fue muy barato.

We walked all the way to the Eastern Pier, since that’s where we were going to take a boat that would drop us off near this shopping center, which is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. We spent a little time at the pier because we were waiting for the last boat of the day—it was already quite late—but we didn’t mind waiting; Olivia was entertained watching the other boats go by, and the ticket was very cheap.

Una vez llegamos al centro comercial, nos sorprendimos con las hermosas decoraciones de luces que tenían afuera, luego entramos echamos un vistazo al supermercado y seguidamente vimos el mercado flotante o SookSiam que fue una de mis partes favoritas de este centro comercial y es que muy bonito pues refleja un mercado en canales de agua y barcas de madera, muy interesante la verdad, al igual que todas las cosas que vendían allí, y es que tenían hasta recuerdos de Tailandia muy bonitos y la decoración del mismo es espectacular.

Once we arrived at the mall, we were surprised by the beautiful light decorations outside, then we went inside, took a look around the supermarket, and soon came across the floating market, or SookSiam, which was one of my favorite parts of this mall. It’s really beautiful because it recreates a market on water canals with wooden boats—very interesting, to be honest—just like all the things they sold there. They even had some really nice Thai souvenirs, and the decor is spectacular.

Después de ver el mercado flotante, fuímos al ascensor, para seguir viendo más del centro comercial y es que les cuento que el ICONSIAM es muy grande, y cada piso es más interesante que otro, había uno que parecía muy caro con tiendas por supuesto de lujo y decoraciones muy peculiares, luego había otro piso con restaurantes y decorado con muchas plantas artificiales por supuesto pero era encantador y daban muchas ganas de caminar por allí para ver todo.

After seeing the floating market, we headed to the elevator to explore more of the mall. I have to tell you, ICONSIAM is huge, and each floor is more interesting than the last. There was one floor that looked very upscale, with luxury stores, of course, and very unique decorations. Then there was another floor with restaurants, decorated with lots of artificial plants—of course—but it was charming, and it really made you want to walk around and take it all in.

Luego subimos al rooftop que era muy bonito también, allí habían lugares para sentarse debajo de árboles, una heladería, y la vista era lo mejor, paseamos un poco por allí mientras hacíamos fotos también y nos relajamos un poco y finalmente bajamos donde vimos la estatua de un grande perro que a Olivia le encantó y es que aquí hay muchas cosas interesantes para ver y si me preguntan, sí, es un lugar que recomiendo conocer si van a Bangkok, no sé si el mejor centro comercial de allí pero estoy segura que les va a encantar, es enorme y van a vivir una experiencia única, eso sí, recuerden ir temprano porque fue muy difícil conseguir un taxi para volver al hotel desde allí ya que había mucha gente esperando pero valió la pena la espera.

Then we went up to the rooftop, which was really nice too. There were places to sit under the trees, an ice cream shop, and the view was the best part. We walked around a bit while taking pictures and relaxed for a while, and finally went back down where we saw a statue of a big dog that Olivia loved. There are so many interesting things to see here, and if you ask me, yes, it’s a place I recommend visiting if you go to Bangkok. I don’t know if it’s the best mall there, but I’m sure you’ll love it—it’s huge, and you’ll have a unique experience. Just remember to go early, because it was really hard to get a taxi back to the hotel from there since there were so many people waiting, but it was worth the wait.
