Hace años atrás una amiga estando fuera del país me pidió buscarle a alguien para darles clases o que ayudara a su pequeño hijo con clases de apoyo ya que el niño era de los que hay que darle sus "empujones" para que haga las cosas, no presta atención tan fácil a las cosas que tengan que ver con su educación, le busqué la persona pero vivía muy lejos a lo que luego ella misma pensó en mi, estaba sin hacer nada y le dije ¿ porque no? Pero hay un problema, no tengo paciencia y nunca he dado clases , ella me dijo - si podrás porque eras una de las más inteligentes cuando estudiábamos, no me sentía así realmente.
Years ago a friend of mine, being out of the country, asked me to find someone to give them classes or to help her little son with support classes since the child was one of those that you have to push him to do things, he does not pay attention so easily to things that have to do with his education, I looked for the person but he lived far away and then she herself thought of me, I was doing nothing and I said to her why not? But there is a problem, I have no patience and I have never taught, she told me - if you can because you were one of the smartest when we were studying, I didn't really feel that way.
Me gradué en ingeniería en procesos químicos y siempre pensé que ser educadora, ser maestras o profesora era un trabajo bastante estresante, eran para personas muy pacientes poder atender a tantos niños ,jóvenes o adultos con personalidades distintas y con el objetivo de que cada uno aprendiera lo que se tenía previsto, me parecía mucho esfuerzo mental para mí que soy cero paciente enseñando jajaja pero la vida nos da vueltas y nos lleva a situaciones que ni imaginamos resultando lo inesperado.
I graduated in chemical process engineering and I always thought that being an educator, teacher or professor was a very stressful job, they were for very patient people to attend so many children, young people or adults with different personalities and with the goal that each one learned what was planned, it seemed a lot of mental effort for me that I am zero patient teaching hahaha but life turns us around and takes us to situations that we did not even imagine resulting in the unexpected.
Cuando empecé con las tareas dirigidas, con las explicaciones en su primer año exactamente en el segundo lapso, venía con un rendimos académico bastante malo, materias reprobadas y logré que volviera ser el niño responsable con sus estudios. Esto fue el resultado que tuve de algo que pensé que jamás haría ya que es una profesión que a mí parecer necesitas muchísima paciencia y mucha inteligencia para saber tratar y educar de la mejor manera a los niños y jóvenes en esta edad que es bien difícil.
When I started with the homework, with the explanations in his first year, exactly in the second term, he came with a very bad academic performance, failed subjects and I managed to make him become a responsible child with his studies. This was the result of something I thought I would never do because it is a profession that I think you need a lot of patience and a lot of intelligence to know how to treat and educate children and young people in the best way at this age which is very difficult.
Así que esto se volvió parte de mi trabajo por temporada, preparé y guíe a el niño todo estos años, solo período escolar y ésta vez pensé que el niño ,ya no tan niño porque está más alto que yo 😂, se defendería solo sin mi ayuda pero no fue así , su madre me llamó para ver si no podía volver a ayudarlo y más aún lo necesitaba porque es tiempo de hacer su proyecto de fin de año, uno de los más complicados para los alumnos de ese año y para el aún más , como la situación acá no está muy buena y un ingreso extra no está demás , volví a aceptar y hace poco empecé de nuevo a " ayudarlo" en sus clases, en todas las materias que le imparten en 5to año, volviendo a la dirá tarea de crear una rutina que le permita realizar y mantenerse al día con las actividades que le mandan en su colegio.
So this became part of my seasonal work, I prepared and guided the child all these years, only school period and this time I thought that the child, no longer a child because he is taller than me 😂, would defend himself without my help but it was not so, his mother called me to see if I could not help him again and even more he needed it because it is time to do his end of year project, As the situation here is not very good and an extra income is not too much, I accepted again and recently I started again to "help him" in his classes, in all the subjects he is taught in 5th grade, returning to the task of creating a routine that allows him to perform and keep up with the activities that are sent to him in his school.
Mi trabajo más que como guía es como si fuera su profesora de apoyo en todas las materias que vé cada año, una tutoría general, ya que le ayudo en todas las actividades evaluativas, lo preparo para exámenes ,lo guío en trabajos, ensayos, exposiciones y todo tipo de actividad que ya sabrán suelen mandar en estos años de educación básica y diversificada. Lo he ayudado hacer actividades escolares de todo tipo como láminas de exposiciones, experimentos, hasta maquetas incluso😁. He intentando mantenerle un ritmo a sus actividades educativas, que tenga disciplina y lleve a cabo todas sus actividades asignadas, pero me di cuenta que el trabajo de un docente no es tan simple, ya que queda de parte del alumno y también de los padres , llevar esa disciplina que le permita cumplir con sus objetivos y responsabilidades académicas.
My work more than as a guide is as if I were his support teacher in all the subjects he sees each year, a general tutoring, as I help him in all evaluative activities, I prepare him for exams, I guide him in works, essays, exhibitions and all kinds of activities that are usually sent in these years of basic and diversified education. I have helped him to do school activities of all kinds such as exhibition sheets, experiments, even models😁. I have tried to keep a rhythm to his educational activities, to have discipline and carry out all his assigned activities, but I realized that the work of a teacher is not so simple, since it is up to the student and also to the parents, to bring that discipline that allows him to meet his goals and academic responsibilities.
Me agrada que pueda ver su proceso de avance eso es señal de que estoy haciendo bien mi trabajo y lo mejor de que no soy tan mala en esta profesión que veía muy pero muy lejos de llevarla a cabo, creo que es una de las mejores cosas que nos suceda como maestros, como profesores o tutores , que nuestros alumnos aprendan y los muestren en sus notas, en los que nos comunican cuando le preguntamos ¿ que entendiste sobre el tema?, Cuando resuelven problemas que no entendía, en fin en todo su desempeño académico.
I am pleased that I can see their progress process, that is a sign that I am doing my job well and the best thing is that I am not so bad in this profession that I saw very, very far away from carrying it out, I think it is one of the best things that happens to us as teachers, as professors or tutors, that our students learn and show it in their notes, in what they tell us when we ask them what they understood about the subject, when they solve problems they did not understand, in short, in all their academic performance.
