While browsing for makeup, I came across this brand called Flower Knows. The main thing that attracts people to their products is their packaging. Not gonna lie, when I first heard about this, I was skeptical. Yeah it looks very pretty but I'd rather buy makeup from brands of the same price range that are proven and tested by makeup artists.
But when I saw this particular collection, I got really curious especially when the reviews were actually good.
There's a $20 discount on Shopee so I got really tempted to buy the set. It includes a storage box, 4 lipgloss, 2 blushes, 1 eyeshadow palette, 1 mirror, 1 hair clip, 1 brush, and 4 mini powder puffs. A total of 15 items in one price. From $107 down to $75... Not bad!
I've never been more excited for a makeup product before!
First thing I opened was the storage box. OMFG. Even that was so pretty already. I was so excited that I didn't realize that this is actually making my inner child happy.
The box looks well-made although it was kinda hard to open it at first because some glue got stuck there lol but it was no big deal. It's faux leather and has an embossed design. It is so damn pretty.
This hand mirror is just... beautiful. It also doesn't feel light or cheap when you hold it. I'm not sure about the material but it doesn't feel plastic.
Even their boxes have such an intricate design.
While holding the mirror, I can't stop staring at the wonderful design that they did. I also just learned that the brand was founded by 2 Chinese cosplayers and now it makes perfect sense that they give so much effort in the quality and looks of the packaging. Cosplayers are very attentive to details. I know this because I used to cosplay when I was a teen haha.
Next is a hair clip and it's so cute. I guess this design looks quite different compared to the other ones in the collection but it's still in with the theme. It reminds me of a labradorite. :D
These are tiny powder puffs that I was also excited about because I don't have tiny ones haha. These would be perfect for carrying with me in my bag for my powder when I need to touch up because the sponges in pressed powders always suck.
Then there are 2 blushes... When I took them out of the box, OMFG! It's so beautiful WTF lol. They are quite heavy as well and it feels very expensive. The feeling when opening the blush is so satisfying.
Just look at that??? It's not just one layer but two! Those details... man this is a piece of art!
There are 2 shades. Little Cranberry (left) and Romantic Blossom (right).
This kinda makes me not want to use it because I don't want to destroy it! Haha. It's like a great sculpture. Just amazing.
The lipgloss have 4 shades. They look like they're mostly cool-toned pinks but I hope they suit me. As long as they're not that warm I guess it will be fine haha. Shit turns orange on me when the shade is too warm and orange doesn't look nice on me. :D
They are printed this time, I guess because it is very hard to do them in glass. But still looks really pretty regardless.
The handle of the lipgloss has this texture so aside from it really looking nice, it made it easier to open compared to other brands of lipgloss that have smooth surface.
This is the blush brush and it's apparently from the other collection yet they still included it here. It is so damn pretty I have nothing to say. It somehow reminds me of Little Mermaid for whatever reason haha.
Also yes it kinda looks like those glass dildos. XD
Lastly, the eyeshadow palette. Like the blush, the packaging of this one is top notch. It really feels expensive. Even better feeling than Dior packaging... it's insane.
The colors of the palette look kinda pale but from my observation, Asian brands really do look paler than Western brands. That's why it was so hard for me to find an eyeshadow palette that isn't too dark for me because Western brands are always into glam looks. Asian makeup is into natural, cute, and light colors that's why I like them. :D
I'm really not gonna get tired of staring into these details.
Honestly, I didn't expect that I'd be so happy getting these. It reminded me of my childhood and how much I liked fairytales and cute stuff. It's so dreamy and makes me feel like I'm a princess in a fairytale, just like what I've always wanted. The happiness really is unexplainable and I'm not exaggerating haha. Now I understand why they got so popular.
I'm in the process of healing my inner child. Just spoiling myself with the things I only dreamt of having... and this just did that. It kinda gives you a feeling that you got toy makeups except they're not toys, you know what I mean? I feel like I'm a doll in the doll house that I've always wanted.
I haven't tried them on yet and that will be for another post. :D So far, I'm pretty happy with them especially looking at the colors. I'm glad this brand exists and I can say that they were worth it.
