Christmas arrives in the twilight city

Last weekend was the Christmas light-up ceremony at most of the shopping malls in my city. I couldn't go to all of them, as some are quite far away and nighttime transportation is scarce, and I don't like going out so late. I love being comfortable at home, and I'm not a big fan of the Christmas season either; for me, it's the same routine every year at this time.
I understand that children are the ones who get most excited about Christmas, although I've always been indifferent to the Christmas spirit, ever since I was little. So it's something that will never change, and that's fine with me. That means I can't get excited about any Christmas shows. So last Saturday I spent some time at the Crepusuclar shopping center, where activities were being held to kick off Christmas.
El fin de semana pasado fue la ceremonia de encendido de luces navideñas en la mayoría de los centros comerciales de mi ciudad. No pude ir a todos, ya que algunos están bastante lejos y el transporte nocturno es escaso, y no me gusta salir tan tarde. Me encanta estar cómodo en casa, y tampoco soy muy fanático de la temporada navideña, para mi es la misma rutina cada año en esta época.
Entiendo que los niños son los que más se emocionan con la Navidad, aunque yo siempre he sido indiferente al espíritu navideño, desde que era pequeña. Así que es algo que nunca cambiará, y me parece bien. Eso significa que no puedo emocionarme con ningún espectáculo navideño. Así que el sábado pasado pasé un rato en el centro comercial Crepuscular, donde se celebraban actividades para dar inicio a la Navidad.
The activities started early, but I didn't arrive until late afternoon. On the second floor, there was a small entrepreneurs' bazaar. There were only a few stalls, but quite a few people were looking at the products on offer. There were lots of Christmas decorations and jewelry. There were also some stalls selling sweets and desserts, and clothes for pets.
In the same area, the Bionic store had someone painting children's faces. There was a long line, and they had also set up and decorated an area of the mall with Christmas decorations so that people could take pictures.
Las actividades comenzaron temprano, pero yo no llegué al lugar hasta última hora de la tarde. En la segunda planta había un pequeño bazar de emprendedores. Solo había unos pocos puestos, pero había bastante gente mirando los productos que ofrecían los emprendedores. Había muchas decoraciones navideñas y bisuteria. También había algunos puestos con dulces y postres, y ropa para mascotas.
En la misma zona, la tienda Bionic tenía a alguien pintando las caras de los niños. Había una larga cola y también habían montado y decorado una zona del centro comercial con adornos navideños para que la gente pudiera hacerse fotos.
The main stage was where the musical performances took place. They began with the participation of different dance academies, which performed choreographies of different styles. Many family members of the girls and teenagers in the dance groups were there, enthusiastically recording videos and taking photos of their daughters dancing on stage.
There were quite a few people there, and I managed to squeeze in on one side to try to take some photos. It was impossible to get close to the front, so I had to stay to one side. The entertainment was provided by a girl named Mava Dorante, who looked very pretty in her red dress. She did a great job and organized some raffles among the children who gathered around her.
El escenario central era donde tenían lugar las actuaciones musicales. Comenzaron con la participación de diferentes academias de baile, que interpretaron coreografías de diferentes estilos. Había muchos familiares de las niñas y adolescentes de los grupos de baile, que grababan vídeos y tomaban fotos con entusiasmo de sus hijas bailando en el escenario.
Había bastante gente, y pude colarme por un lado para intentar hacer algunas fotos. Era imposible acercarse por delante, así que tuve que quedarme a un lado. El entretenimiento estuvo a cargo de una chica llamada Mava Dorante, que estaba muy guapa con su vestido rojo. Hizo un gran trabajo y organizó algunos sorteos entre los niños que se reunieron a su alrededor.

Then it was the turn of a band that played dance music. I stayed for a while watching their show; the music was very rhythmic and the audience enjoyed the show. I moved around to take photos from different angles.
I couldn't stay to see the main show, organized by Boga Eventos, the same people who put on the shows at all the Christmas light displays. They were at Smabil, Metropolis, and surely other places, although there are other companies that also do shows like this. They are the most famous in the city.
That show and the tree lighting would be very late, so I couldn't stay to watch it. At this time of year, it gets dark earlier, so I went home before sunset. Besides, I was feeling a little tired from other things I did this weekend, but I'm sure the lighting was great.
Luego fue el turno de un grupo musical que tocó canciones bailables. Me quedé un rato viendo su espectáculo, la música tenía mucho ritmo y el público disfrutaba del espectáculo. Me moví para tomar fotos desde diferentes ángulos.
No pude quedarme a ver el espectáculo principal, organizado por Boga Eventos, los mismos que montan los espectáculos en todas las iluminaciones navideñas. Estuvieron en Smabil, Metropolis y seguramente en otros sitios, aunque hay otras empresas que también hacen espectáculos de este estilo. Son los más famosos de la ciudad.
Ese espectáculo y el encendido del árbol serían muy tarde, así que no pude quedarme a verlo. En esta época del año, anochece antes, así que me fui a casa antes de que se pusiera el sol. Además, me sentía un poco cansado por otras cosas que hice este fin de semana, pero estoy seguro de que el encendido fue estupendo.
