The young people of matsucon Events began with the activities scheduled for this year. Once again the Centro Comercial Crepuscular was the ideal place for the geek community of the city of Barquisimeto to gather.

The event that was initially announced for mid-January, due to external causes had to be rescheduled and it was last Saturday February 15 that the Maid Cafe experience came to the city.

Los jóvenes de matsucon Eventos comenzaron con las actividades programadas para este año. Una vez más el Centro Comercial Crepuscular fue el lugar ideal para que la comunidad geek de la ciudad de Barquisimeto se diera cita.

El evento que inicialmente fue anunciado para mediados de enero, por causas externas tuvo que ser reprogramado y fue el pasado sábado 15 de febrero que la experiencia Maid Cafe llegó a la ciudad.

I didn't know much about the Maid Cafe, so I went over to talk to some of the young people and they explained to me that it comes from the youth culture in Japan, especially to the whole cosplay community and followers of anime, otaku, etc. I found it quite entertaining and the attendees seemed to enjoy the activity that also served to get to know each other and share an afternoon among friends from that community.

The Maid Cafe started at 12 noon and ended at exactly five in the afternoon. I arrived just before one o'clock in the afternoon and about half an hour later, the place was packed with visitors.

No sabía mucho sobre el Maid Cafe, así que me acerqué a hablar con algunos de los jóvenes y me explicaron que viene de la cultura juvenil en Japón, especialmente a toda la comunidad cosplay y seguidores del anime, otaku, etc. Me pareció bastante entretenido y los asistentes parecían disfrutar de la actividad que además servía para conocerse y compartir una tarde entre amigos de esa comunidad.

El Maid Cafe comenzó a las 12 del mediodía y terminó exactamente a las cinco de la tarde. Llegué poco antes de la una de la tarde y como media hora despues , el local estaba abarrotado de visitantes.

The organizers held a casting call in early January to select the waitresses and waiters who would serve the public. All of them dressed according to the theme, they emulated the Maid Café experience.

Desserts, coffees, drinks, were the most requested by the attendees. The prices were very affordable. The idea of the organizers was that everyone could experience the fun and have a good time. There was also a stand where accessories, figures, posters were sold.

Los organizadores celebraron un casting a principios de enero para seleccionar a las camareras y camareros que atenderían al público. Todas ellas vestidas de acuerdo con el tema, emulaban la experiencia de un Maid Café.

Postres, cafés, bebidas, fueron lo más solicitado por los asistentes. Los precios eran muy asequibles. La idea de los organizadores era que todos pudieran vivir la experiencia de la diversión y pasar un buen rato. También había un stand donde se vendían accesorios, figuras, posters.

Not only the selected staff was dressed in maid and butler costumes. The general invitation to the event is to attend with their costumes and participate in the cosplay catwalk. There were two categories, the first was for those who attended in Maid costumes, the winner got a prize from the sponsors. The second category was for those who wore another cosplay, this also had a winner chosen by the jury and received another prize.

No sólo el personal seleccionado iba vestido con trajes de criada y mayordomo. La invitación general al evento es asistir con sus disfraces y participar en la pasarela de cosplay. Hubo dos categorías, la primera fue para los que asistieron con trajes de Maid, el ganador obtuvo un premio de los patrocinadores. La segunda categoría era para quienes llevaran otro cosplay, esta también tuvo un ganador elegido por el jurado y recibió otro premio.

The hours passed quickly, before five o'clock in the afternoon the desserts and drinks were finished. Sales were good and people were satisfied and happy, all enjoying in a good way their passion for this kind of activities. I was able to take enough pictures to post and share the event. The organizer told me that they will come back to the Maid Cafe, no date yet, first they will continue with the planning and the next event they have scheduled.

Las horas pasaron rápidamente, antes de las cinco de la tarde ya se habían terminado los postres y las bebidas. Las ventas fueron buenas y la gente estaba satisfecha y contenta, todos disfrutando de buena manera de su pasión por este tipo de actividades. Pude tomar suficientes fotos para publicar y compartir el evento. La organizadora me dijo que volverán al Maid Cafe, aún no hay fecha, primero seguirán con la planificación y el próximo evento que tienen programado.
