This weekend fans of anime, cosplays and k pop gathered at the Metropolis shopping mall in Barquisimeto.
Este fin de semana los fanáticos del anime, los cosplays y el k pop se dieron cita en el centro comercial Metrópolis de Barquisimeto.
Two days of cosplays, dances and commercial exhibitions for the enjoyment of all fans of this genre that has millions of followers around the world. From young people to adults.
Different entrepreneurs and commercial brands participated as exhibitors with their booth in the central square of the mall. Souvenirs, t-shirts, postcards, bracelets, necklaces, wallets, clothing, Asian food, etc. Those attending the event had many options to purchase any product.
Dos días de cosplays, bailes y exhibiciones comerciales para el disfrute de todos los aficionados a estos generos que tiene millones de seguidores en todo el mundo. Desde jóvenes hasta adultos.
Diferentes emprendedores y marcas comerciales participaron como expositores con su stand en la plaza central del centro comercial. Recuerdos, camisetas, postales, pulseras, collares, carteras, ropa, comida asiática, etc. Los asistentes al evento tenían muchas opciones para adquirir cualquier producto.

The company Matsucon was in charge of organizing the event. Previously they had already held other editions with equal success. Last year I could not stay long, so I took advantage of the fact that I was doing some shopping in the mall to go and see the activities.
La empresa Matsucon fue la encargada de organizar el evento. Anteriormente ya habían realizado otras ediciones con igual éxito. El año pasado no pude quedarme mucho tiempo, así que aproveché que estaba haciendo unas compras en el centro comercial para acercarme a ver las actividades.

On the first day several cosplayers were present and participated in a contest. Each one showed their creativity with costumes designed by themselves. Because it doesn't matter that the economy doesn't help to buy imported costumes and accessories. The best thing is how they let their imagination fly to make their own costumes and let nothing stop them from participating in something they are passionate about.
El primer día varios cosplayers estuvieron presentes y participaron en un concurso. Cada uno mostró su creatividad con trajes diseñados por ellos mismos. Porque no importa que la economía no ayude a comprar trajes y accesorios importados. Lo mejor es cómo dejan volar su imaginación para hacer sus propios trajes y que nada les impida participar en algo que les apasiona.

There were also dance contests, both individual and couples. The audience applauded and was thrilled with all the participants, who had great talent and fascinating choreographies. Although I don't know much about k pop, I was inevitably infected by the energy that these young people transmitted with their dances.
Not only the young fans enjoyed themselves, anyone who passed by the mall, stayed to watch the activity. There was also free dancing. The musical themes changed randomly and anyone who wanted to dance their choreography could do so in the central square.
También hubo concursos de baile, tanto individuales como por parejas. El público aplaudió y se emocionó con todos los participantes, que tenían un gran talento y coreografías fascinantes. Aunque no sé mucho de k pop, me contagié inevitablemente de la energía que transmitían estos jóvenes con sus bailes.
No sólo los jóvenes fans disfrutaron, cualquiera que pasara por el centro comercial, se quedaba a ver la actividad. También hubo baile libre. Los temas musicales cambiaban aleatoriamente y cualquiera que quisiera bailar su coreografía podía hacerlo en la plaza central.

A jury specially selected for the occasion was in charge of judging. On Saturday I couldn't stay long, so I didn't find out the winners, and on Sunday I couldn't stay until the end. In a couple of months they plan to do another event, but in another mall. I will keep an eye out for it.
What do you think about this kind of events? I liked the atmosphere. You don't have to be an expert in this niche to appreciate good shows.
Un jurado especialmente seleccionado para la ocasión se encargó de juzgar. El sábado no pude estar mucho tiempo, así que no me enteré de los ganadores, y el domingo no pude quedarme hasta el final. En un par de meses planean hacer otro evento, pero en otro centro comercial. Estaré atento.
¿Qué opina de este tipo de eventos? Me gustó el ambiente. No hace falta ser un experto en este nicho para apreciar los buenos espectáculos.
