Job fair for job seekers

The Job Fair is held annually in the city, thanks to the initiative of the Pythagoras Organization, which is organizing it for the third consecutive year. As in previous years, the chosen venue was the Metropolis Shopping Center.
It lasted two days, Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th. From 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., interested individuals could attend, submit their information and resumes, and many were invited to interview with the human resources managers of the participating companies.
More than thirty companies participated this year, each with its own booth and staff to gather information and select the ideal candidates to fill their vacancies.
La Expo Empleo se celebra anualmente en la ciudad, gracias a la iniciativa de la Organización Pitágoras, que la organiza por tercer año consecutivo. Como en ediciones anteriores, el lugar elegido fue el Centro Comercial Metropolis.
Tuvo una duración de dos días, el viernes 17 y el sábado 18. Desde las diez de la mañana hasta las cinco de la tarde, los interesados pudieron asistir, presentar su información y currículum, y muchos fueron invitados a entrevistarse con los responsables de recursos humanos de las empresas participantes.
Más de treinta empresas participaron en esta ocasión, cada una con su propio stand y personal para recabar información y seleccionar a los candidatos ideales para cubrir sus vacantes.
The process was simple. Through the Pythagoras Organization's website, people could register and view job openings posted by companies. They could also complete all their information and resumes online, so there was no need to bring a printed copy. In this way, the organizers aim to digitize everything, as it should be everywhere, and definitively abandon the outdated practice of submitting a physical resume. Many people brought a printed copy, just in case, but it wasn't necessary. A digital copy was sufficient.
I went on Friday at midday, and there were many people, mostly young, queuing to get in. This highlights the number of people who currently lack stable employment. Almost all of them were quite young, since in my country, those over 35, unless they hold a high-level executive position, find it extremely difficult to get a job in any mid- or lower-level role. Unfortunately, it's part of the country's work culture.
El proceso fue sencillo. A través del sitio web de la Organización Pitágoras, las personas podían registrarse y consultar las ofertas de empleo publicadas por las empresas. También podían completar toda su información y currículum a través del portal web, por lo que no era necesario llevar una copia impresa. De esta manera, los organizadores buscan digitalizarlo todo, como debería ser en todas partes, y abandonar definitivamente la práctica obsoleta de presentar un currículum físico. Mucha gente llevó una copia impresa, por si acaso, pero no fue necesario. Una copia digital fue suficiente.
Fui el viernes al mediodía y había mucha gente, sobre todo jóvenes, haciendo cola para entrar. Esto pone de manifiesto la cantidad de personas que actualmente no tienen un empleo estable. Casi todos eran bastante jóvenes, ya que en mi país, a los mayores de 35 años, a menos que ocupen un puesto ejecutivo de alto nivel, les resulta extremadamente difícil conseguir un trabajo en cualquier puesto de nivel medio o bajo en las empresas. Desafortunadamente, forma parte de la cultura laboral del país.
Although the website specified the available vacancies for each company, they also received resumes and information from all over the world. In this way, each company maintains a database and conducts interviews with potential employees for future openings. This is especially important in a job market so deteriorated due to the mass emigration the country has experienced, where highly skilled workers sought to escape the crisis and achieve better living conditions in other countries.
There are many aspects that also need to change in this country's job market. Changes are needed in all areas, and I see them as very difficult to achieve, both now and in the future, because the shortcomings are so deeply ingrained. In any case, the work that the Pythagoras organization does through the Expo MEmpleo is commendable. I hope it helps many people find a job that allows them to progress and get ahead in their lives.
Participation was massive, and now we must wait for the organizers to announce the date of the next edition.
Aunque el sitio web especificaba las vacantes disponibles para cada empresa, también recibieron currículos e información de todo el mundo. De esta manera, cada empresa mantiene una base de datos y realiza entrevistas con potenciales empleados para futuras vacantes. Esto es especialmente importante en un mercado laboral tan deteriorado debido a la emigración masiva que ha sufrido el país, donde trabajadores altamente cualificados buscaron escapar de la crisis para alcanzar mejores condiciones de vida en otros países.
Hay muchos aspectos que también deben cambiar en el mercado laboral de este país. Se necesitan cambios en todos los ámbitos, y los veo muy difíciles de lograr, tanto hoy como en el futuro, porque las deficiencias están muy arraigadas. En cualquier caso, la labor que realiza la organización Pythagoras a través de la Expo MEmpleo es encomiable. Espero que ayude a muchas personas a encontrar un trabajo que les permita progresar y salir adelante en sus vidas.
La participación fue masiva, y ahora debemos esperar a que los organizadores anuncien la fecha de la próxima edición.
