A show to welcome the spirit of Christmas

A few days ago, a small meeting was held with digital media by some well-known clowns in the city who are part of the Clowns Association. They are organizing a show for Sunday, December 21, at the Juárez Theater in Barquisimeto, which they have called El Show de Los Payasos (The Clowns Show).
This meeting took place at Paryus Café, a cozy coffee shop I was visiting for the first time, although I already knew about it because it was all over social media. I loved the place, I really liked the decor, with antique objects, a television that reminded me of my childhood and that younger generations would not know how to use. I found it a very pleasant place and there are even books for anyone who wants to have a coffee and read for a while.
Hace unos días, se celebró una pequeña reunión con medios digitales por parte de algunos payasos conocidos de la ciudad que forman parte de la Asociación de Payasos, quienes están organizando un espectáculo para el domingo 21 de diciembre en el Teatro Juárez de Barquisimeto, al que han llamado El Show de Los Payasos.
Esta reunión tuvo lugar en el Paryus Café, una acogedora cafetería que visitaba por primera vez, aunque ya sabía de su existencia porque estaban bombardeados en las redes sociales. Me encantó el lugar, me gustó mucho la decoración, con objetos antiguos, un televisor que me recordó a mi infancia y que las generaciones más jóvenes no sabrían cómo usar. Me pareció un lugar muy agradable e incluso hay libros para quien quiera tomar un café y leer un rato.

Workshops, talks, etc. are always organized, but of course, it's a small space. The owner told me it can hold about 20 people. I took some photos while waiting for all the digital media and some clowns who were missing to arrive.
Seeing the clowns also reminded me of when I was younger and tried to be a clown, but ended up abandoning that adventure. I accompanied a magician to a couple of children's parties and there I realized that it wasn't my thing. Dealing with so many children turned that brief adventure into a nightmare for me. In addition, for about three years, I painted my face like a clown to sell balloons at the carnivals in my city. I was a kid, and the money I earned with my friend at the carnivals was spent on beer and hamburgers.
Siempre se organizan talleres, charlas, etc., pero, por supuesto, es un espacio pequeño. El propietario me dijo que tiene capacidad para unas 20 personas. Saqué algunas fotos mientras esperaba a que llegaran todos los medios digitales y algunos payasos que faltaban.
Ver a los payasos también me recordó cuando era más joven e intenté ser payaso, pero acabé abandonando esa aventura. Acompañé a un mago a un par de fiestas infantiles y allí me di cuenta de que no era lo mío. Tratar con tantos niños convirtió esa breve aventura en una pesadilla para mí. Además, durante unos tres años, me pinté la cara de payaso para vender globos en los carnavales de mi ciudad. Era chaval y el dinero que ganaba con mi amigo en los carnavales lo gastábamos en cerveza y hamburguesas.
At the small press conference, they gave us details about the show. Among the highlights is that with the ticket, people will participate in a raffle for a new bicycle. The ticket price is reasonable, $6 for one, and if you buy two, you only pay $10. Of course, it works well if only a mother and her child attend, but the detail is for those who have four or five children.
The show is held at Tetrao Juárez, an excellent venue, and the clowns who were there are the participants. One of them does magic tricks, and each has their own style. Santa Claus will also be present at the show, receiving letters from the children who attend.
En la pequeña rueda de prensa, nos dieron detalles sobre el espectáculo. Entre lo más destacado está que con la entrada, las personas participarán en un sorteo de una bicicleta nueva. El precio de la entrada es razonable, 6 dólares por una, y si compras dos, solo pagas 10 dólares. Por supuesto, funciona bien si solo asisten una madre y su hijo, pero el detalle es para aquellos que tienen cuatro o cinco hijos.
El espectáculo se celebra en el Tetrao Juárez, un lugar excelente, y los payasos que estaban allí son los participantes. Uno de ellos hace trucos de magia y cada uno tiene su propio estilo.Papá Noel también estará presente en el espectáculo, recibiendo cartas de los niños que asistan.

After he gave us all the information, I took more photos and we chatted for a while. We even talked for a moment about the phobia some people have of clowns, something that exists but whose name I can't remember right now.
They gave me a ticket, but I still don't know if I'll go see the show. If I do, I'll tell you all about it. The date is great, as it's the day we celebrate the arrival of the Christmas spirit, so I hope they sell lots of tickets and that lots of children come to enjoy the show.
Después de que nos diera toda la información, tomé más fotos y charlamos un rato. Incluso hablamos un momento sobre la fobia que algunas personas tienen a los payasos, algo que existe pero cuyo nombre no recuerdo ahora mismo.
Me dieron una entrada, pero aún no sé si iré a ver el espectáculo. Si lo hago, os contaré los detalles del evento. La fecha es estupenda, ya que ese día se celebra la llegada del espíritu navideño, así que espero que vendan muchas entradas y que muchos niños acudan a disfrutar de este espectáculo.
